Do you make your bed?

Personally I cannot relax in chaos of a messy room either.

If you leave your bedding loose it's easier for spiders to crawl in and start nesting. It's really annoying to wake up with part of your body swollen and/or numb because you got bit while you were sleeping.

My wife not only makes the bed, but every day, but when I get home from work I find that she has just changed the sheets and has the old ones in the washing machine. Not only that, she has always just gotten out of the shower as well, and has raised the toilet seat for me in case I need to pee as soon as I get home. Doing all that work must take a lot out of her, b/c I think I have noticed her limping several times, or at least walking sort of funny.

I live on my own, so I don't have anybody telling me to make it, so I only make it when the blankets start to get all over the place or after I washed the blankets.

Every morning we swap out the cover covers for the cat covers so they don't puke on the cover covers. The cat covers end up covered in cat coverings.

Not usually. I change the sheets once a week so they usually don't get too messy. I'm a "tucker"

pretty much only if someone other than immediate family is coming over, which is like never.


i primarily just use a sheet anyway. when it gets colder i might add slightly heavier blanket.
i just throw both over the bed and done with it.

If you use a duvet (aka comforter) cover as your top sheet the insulating layer is inside your top sheet which simplifies things.

No, it's dumb to make a bed that you are just going to get into anyway. I also don't make the bed when I have company over because I don't want them to have the expectation that I'm the type of guy that makes the bed.

The only reason I'll accept is if it is cold enough to have a comforter out and you stretch the comforter fully flat over the mattress to air it out.

With that being said I keep the bathroom and kitchen in showroom condition. There are just some things I nit pick at and other things I don't.

Nope. I usually sleep with an industrial fan directed at the bed (take that Koreans ) which manages to tear the sheets off anyways. My preferred sleeping method is huddled in a deep twisted pile of covers and pillows, protecting my stuffed animals from the frigid northern winds, so I see no reason to do any setup until I'm ready to get into bed.

Yes, my wife is not the most organized person in the world, yet she can't sleep in a messy bed. She tends to wait for me to fix it before going to sleep.

I make my kids beds every single morning and tidy up the master as well. Wife and I have two comforters which I believe to be the secret to a happy marriage.

Almost never. There's no reason to. The way I sleep, it's just a waste of time. I always pull the blankets up into the air with my feet and then have them go under my legs. (Cocoon style, essentially)

Making the bed doesn't make that experience any better. Making the bed isn't somehow more sanitary. It just makes your bed appear more neat/organized. In reality, I see a made bed (if it's my own) and I just see more work to get myself comfortable when I go to bed later that night.

The wife changes ours twice a week and I guess we have well mannered cats.

They won't even crap by the pool in the flower beds, they demand to come inside to do their thing, so most of the time we leave the bed unmade during the week, if they want to crash there, but they do usually sleep in the guest room a lot during the day which is always made.

Dirt on the car can scratch the paint and a clean car stays clean for a week or two depending on the weather. The main purpose of washing the car for me is so that I can hand apply a new layer of polish and it looks looks like glass for at least a week.
