Do you mind eating dinner in restaurants alone?

I do it all the time. I work away from the old lady alot and don't really care to eat out with anyone here at our office. Its mostly at lunch. I don't think I would go to a sit down restaraunt during crowded dinner time. Then I know people would be staring.

did it up to 3x a week for 5 years. had a job that required me to travel 80% of the time, you get used to it after awhile. now i'm home most every night to eat with my family, sometimes i miss the peace and quiet but in general i enjoy spending the time with my family more.

I do it all the time. Sometimes, if it's a really nice restaurant, I'll take a pen and a little pad of paper and make it look like I'm a food critic.

I normally go with Lord Maul and we will sit in different booths and gripe about how we hate every body. Then we normally go burn stuff and cause mayhem until the jedi fighters arrive and make us leave.

I can't do it unless I have something to keep me appearing occupied (magazine, newspaper, etc). Old job, I was doing it constantly, this one, not so often.

I do it all the time, but I get a table for like four people and act like I am waiting for people to meet me. I then hope all the people in the reasturant finish before I do and put food on the other plates, so that new people comming in think that I just took a long time eating.
But seriously, the waiter/waitress always gives me really good service when I do this.

I feel bad eating alone, even in a place like a college student center where people often come between classes or whatever to eat alone. I'd rather take my food to an office that I have access to, where I can at least surf ATOT while I eat

It's not that I mind being alone.... sometimes I spend all weekend alone, even though I have friends and other options and things that I could do. But if I'm alone, I'd rather not be alone in a stagnant crowd.... alone in a crowded, moving place like a mall or something is okay, b/c usually I have an objective, and when it's accomplished, I can leave. But at a place where people come and sit for a few hours at a time, I can't stand to be alone.

Even at fast-food places. I'd rather drive-thru and eat in my car in the parking lot than sit alone inside, b/c I'd rather be REALLY alone and at least have my choice of music and climate control....

I guess one of the whole reasons for going out to eat dinner is to talk with the people you go with. I tried going on my own once and it ruined the whole thing.

Its just that men go where there is food for one purpose: to eat. Talking is a distraction from our food. We go to the movies for one purpose: to see a movie. We go to the mall for one purpose: to buy something. I don't know any men who go to restaurants to gab like women. hehe

I used to eat by myself all the time because I'm a night owl and I always worked 2nd or 3rd shift. I loved it. Nobody to distract me from my hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, nobody to distract me from reading my newspaper except the waitress.

Nobody cares that you're by yourself, except maybe some dumb teenager.

I've gone to the movies a few times by myself, too. I don't think anyone makes it their business to monitor who you're with, and if they do, who cares, anyway?
