10am - "Just woke up, STOKED FOR BICEPS DAY, #GYMME"
11am - "Prepping for biceps day #SWOLL"
11:30am - "On the way to 24 for extreme biceps. GET ON MY LEVEL!"
12pm - "Checked in at 24 Hour Fitness - On that biceps grind"
3pm - "3 hours of bicep pumpage complete #hardworkdedicationgetonmylevel"

Makes me want to fucking kill someone.

I used to be one of those fat people. I did 10 min jogging on treadmill to warm up. Then eventually 15. Then 20. (There's a 20 min limit, small gym, only 2 treadmills.) Then core work and weights, then swimming. Hate all you want. I had to start somewhere. If I'd started by trying to run 60 min I would have given up pretty quickly, instead a year later I'm in better shape now than I have been my entire life.

FTR I get frustrated at people who give up quickly yet continue to complain too. But there's no harm in starting slowly and building up endurance and strength over time.

Fat people have no self-discipline in general. Absolutely disgusting & revolting. The human species would be better off without these piece of shit abominations.

I grew to dislike my dad's wife when I came to the realization that she was only amongst the percentage of humans that are a disgrace.
I'd try suggesting fitness & dieting tips & bitch had an excuse an excuse to not do any of it.
"Replacing xxx with yyy (fruits/vegetables/etc) in moderation is key."
"OH NO! I NEED MY COOKIES, CAKE & ICE CREAM! LIFE WOULD BE INCOMPLETE OTHERWISE!"
Then I'd shut up as she'd start getting on my nerves at this point.

You have a piss poor diet, sit & lay around all day watching tv, smoking cigarrettes & fucking yourself with a vibrator, then DARE wonder why you are always depressed? And you don't work, or even try to look for employment?
Fucking piece of shit human being for real.

If there was anyone that should be euthanized, it would be that person.

You have to start somewhere and the fact that they are even there trying says something to me. As Cookie said above, you do what you can and build up strength and stamina over time.

My favorites are the fatties that are benching 300+ pounds. Good for you but what you really need to do is go hit the treadmill for an hour.

Can YOU bench 300 pounds? Maybe they're bulking? Increasing bench weight requires putting on a ton of weight so your muscles have a constant source of energy. And when they're finally ready, if they cut a bit, they lose all that fat right away.

I'm thinking you have no idea what you're doing at a gym.

a friend of mine has been competition body building for years. during his bulking phase he puts on noticeable fat (face fills out) but never gets near 'fatty' status.

A bodybuilder primarily focuses on hypertrophy. Strength isn't their primary goal. Natural bodybuilder is probably less likely to let their bodyfat levels get too high. A guy who's on might because drugs can help him retain muscle while on deficit.

(edit: He might be talking about a powerlifter).

You get very fat while working out. You have to eat a ton to maintain optimal growth and then you slowly cut to keep your gains while losing the fat.

Bodybuilders do not train for strength. No one in a gym who is trying to get healthier should be doing a body building routine.

Here is my hypothesis -

Megan Fox says she digs big arms in the robot flick. This results in young guys thinking it will help them score hotties. They fail to do any research, and fall back on the old curls for the girls nonsense.

"Need"? Who are you to determine what they need? Someone that can legitimately bench 300 pounds is in, at least, muscular shape - which is more than the vast majority of Americans can say, including a lot of thin people that don't exercise. I'm a competitive powerlifter and I've only ever cracked 300 pounds once.

A lot fat people use cardio machines for like 5 minutes and then stop. While normal people stay on one for 30-60 minutes.

How do they feel accomplished at doing 5 minutes of cardio?

Ya know, if I sat down and watched you work out, there are good chances I could find hordes of things to criticize. Familiar with the phrase "judge not, lest ye be judged?" At least they're at the gym, that's a very important first step that very few out of shape people actually take.

Not really. After the early stages of working out, its very, very difficult to put on muscle mass without putting on fat as well. Therefore, people bulk up - gaining muscle, strength, and fat. Then, they cut down, maintaining most of that new muscle while cutting most of that new fat. Its much easier and more effective than trying to do both at once.

I trained for a marathon solely on treadmill runs. I think I only ran outside once for like a mile and the first long distance run for that year was the actual marathon. Some of those runs were for 15+ miles. I just watched tv the whole time lol.

150lbs at 5'11 sounds kind of skinny to be honest. I'm 180 at 5'7 and I think I need to put on more weight. (Actually 183+- water weight and clothes. So probably around 178.)

I love the treadmill, but I've never thought about marathon training based solely on treadmill. Thats quite an accomplishment.

Running outside is harder and vastly superior to running on the treadmill, at least in my opinion.

The only benefit of the treadmill is the clock and mile counter keeps me motivated.
