Ever since getting an E8400 and a GeForce 9600GT about 5 yeas ago I try to overclock both. It's just so much fun. Although my current GPU is a really lousy overclocker so I keep it at factory settings.

Yes, but I have all of my machines running various DC projects. I only OC my windows based gpu's when running projects. Otherwise I run them at stock (with the exception of my main machine where I keep the gpu oc'd slightly).

Technically my answer would be I don't overclock, but I bought a factory overclocked GTX 560ti for my gaming pc.

I have s slight 400mhz OC on my 2500K and i see no need to overclock my GPU because ive never seen any real gains while overclocking a GPU.

Nope. Used to do it for fun but now its just not worth it to me in terms of hassles when things go wrong.

CPU - yes always because it bring noticeable and meaningful performance increase

GPU- technically yes but not really, I set my cards at the same clocks as the fastest stock card I have. So for 6990- 830/1250>850/1300 and for 6950 800/1250>> 850/1300

1055t @ 3.3ghz. I'd probably upgrade my GPU before I considered OCing it, since I just got a 1080 monitor...

I used to. But I liked to have my pc on 24/7 so I don't have to wait for it to boot if I want something done, plus I had a shared printer.
As I have aged, I have had less and less time for gaming, and most other tasks just need to be 'fast enough'. And then components needed to be replaced.
My last two builds are both 45W procs and still on 24/7. One of them is now a NAS box and has actually been undervolted, but not underclocked.

I'm sure I am in a pretty rare minority here.

Sleep takes care of that and works reliably now. If you need to share files/printers, I would recommend getting an Atom or Brazos setup. That electricity bill adds up quicker than you'd think (I just got a kill-a-watt and have been checking everything  )

I used to overclock my gpus, but since getting the 480 I have no need for it. I'm not opposed to overclocking the gpu again in the future, but I'm not doing it currently.

CPU only, after turning a sapphire 9500 into a 9700 pro and then burning it up using a peltier and water block my Gpu overclocking days came to an end.

Both, no voltage though. My C2 955 is 24/7 stable at 3.7ghz at stock volts and is more than enough to use every last ounce I can wring out of my 1 gig 4850 (at whatever the max oc is on the catalyst suite, which I remember isn't much)

Overclocked my 7970 to 1125/1575,it offers the performance i need for now, same can said about my stock clocked 2500k,when a game or app needs some kick,i'll overclock it.

Overclocking is great, a total win win. It allows chip makers to sell lower clocked lower power sku's to the masses as good enough while keeping max potential available to performance users. Being that chip makers care more about tdp than they do max potential I oc everything to its max reliably safe potential.

Overclocking within reason is simply claiming the extra horsepower chipmakers dont due to TDP limitations or performance leeway for future scalability.

OC'ng is a big reason why I joined these forums (hence my name). I currently OC my CPU, and have been running it at the same OC'd speed for over 3 years now; it is not, however, overvolted. My GPU comes with a pretty hefty factory overclock (850 over 675), but I chose the "CPU Only" poll option since I'm running the GPU at factory settings.

Right now, neither. I have a i7 920 and can't be bothered to adjust all the memory timings etc.. When I get an unlocked Ivy Bridge I'll most likely overclock it though.

I haven't OC'd my 5850 either since I just haven't seen the need.

I overclock and underclock both. Just depends on whatever I'm doing at the time.. When I need the speed crank it up. When I just don't crank it down.

Adjusting memory timings after an OC has got to be one of the most biggest pain in the asses ever. Change one timing run memtest, repeat, after you get to the last timing 2 months have gone by lol

I wish I didn't have to nearly as much, but overclocking a decent amount is necessary for me on my CPU since I'm still using a Q9400 and running modern games that use engines that more-often-than-not offload a lot of work to the CPU than should typically be necessary (if they weren't a console port). Depending on the game engine, I can sometimes see increases of as much as 15% FPS with my CPU going from 2.6GHz to 3.33GHz.

Also, distributed computing projects that benefit from a faster CPU cycle.

I always oc my CPU. 7970 is my first gpu oc because it is the first card after fermi where oc helps practically and I didn't own fermi. I even oc my s2 9100 whenever I get a chance. Even the phone becomes a lot faster at 1.6 instead of 1.2, even without benchmarks and without games

everything I can overclock I actually do.
had my first dualcore run @ 3.9Ghz (E6750)
my first Quadcore run @ 3.6Ghz (Q9550)
and my last quadcore run @ 4.0Ghz (Q9650)

my phone (HTC Sensation dualcore 1.2GHz) runs @ 1.782Ghz >=D (although this overclock comes prebuild in the kernel instead so I do not have to do anything at all...)

Both my GPU's came overclocked, but there should be a some hadroom left, until I get a new case that is.
ready for an upgrad!

overclock both as far as i can go.

I will up voltage, lap heatspreaders and heatsinks, basically do anything i can to improve my overclock.
