Do you own a HDTV with your X360/PS3?

I am debating whether to purchase a Xbox 360 on my standard TV. Hope it's not going to be too bad.

After playing a 360 on a hdtv, I found it really hard to go back when I moved and lost access to a hdtv. Then again, I found it hard to watch sdtv shows after watching hdtv broadcasts too. For you it shouldn't be a problem. The games will look as good or better than anything you've been seeing previously. Just take my advice and don't hook it up to an hdtv until you have one of your own.

True, but odds are very high they made sure the 65nm is the Reliable Edition and not another $2+ billion damage Redring Surprise.

It's not a joke, it's an accurate description of the expected behavior of the 65nm version compared to the 30-49% failure rate of the 90nm design.

good point, i want to pick one up when they fix the problems, but the smaller fab wont necessarily do that, guess ill have to wait a few months after they come out

You can play on a SDTV, but don't try and play dead rising. You won't be able to read a damn thing on the screen.

But personally I think an xbox 360 is a waste without an HDTV.

I played for maybe 2 weeks with an SDTV and couldn't take it anymore. I Love my 42" LCD

I just bought one, and have it hooked to my roomates standard tv, its not "bad" at all. I'll be moving to an HDTV home in a week, so its not a big deal to me.

I would have never bought the XBOX 360 if I wasnt gonna play it on HDTV

I started out on a 20" SDTV, but then I upgraded to a 20" monitor using the VGA cable, and finally caved and got a 37" Westinghouse 1080p set.

I'd say it's definitely worth it on SD, but computer monitors can be better (if you don't mind sitting closer). Also some games don't work so well with SD, like Dead Rising. The text is just too small to be readable at 480i.

I bought a HDTV a couple months before I picked up a 360. Haven't seen the 360 on a SDTV though. It's a good investment, console or not.

Xbox 360 looks fine on SD. It won't look better or worse than any of the other stuff you watch on it. I was on a standard TV for an year before I got an HDTV, I thought it was fine.

had a 56" HDTV 2 years ago, got a 360 last year, sold it earlier this year, getting a PS3 today, have not seen either system on a non HD set.
