I own a couple ties for the few occasions I need to wear one. Even my church is fairly casual, I usually just wear black pants and a golf shirt.

Nope. I have been to several government entities. From Federal to State to County to City. Everyone of them are up and up. At least from Mon - Fri.

Not saying all of them are like that everywhere but that is my experience.
