I prefer it, but my wallet is getting sucked dry. Of course this is 1987 technology, which isn't the most efficient. A more modern v8 and a lighter frame/body (from composite materials) would be decent on gas mileage. Detroit should get back to what it used to do best, the large 4d family sedan. I look at the newer composite/aluminum engine tech, fuel injection, cylinder deactivation(on demand), and even the newer hybrid-electric transmission tech they have now and they could produce a kickass caprice. There hasn't been any real replacement for it since it was killed in the 90's. Even the top of the line Impala, which the caprice used to be based off of to compete with the Crown Vic LTD, isn't a replacement. RWD FTW! They can do it, but they aren't.

Give me a big block V8 any day!
V8 gives you a big thing that little motors can't thats torque!
I love older muscle cars and the feel of touching the gas and getting smashed into the seat from torque.
If you worry about gas prices your cheap in my opinion. So what if it goes up 20 cents, your not going to stop buying it are you? if it went up a $1 a gallon I bet 95% of people would continue to buy gas at whatever price and bitch about it.

Seeing as my Monte Carlo SS has been in the shop, I have been driving my parents Mustang GT, and I prefer the V6.
I'm pretty sure the V8 in the Monte is a piece of crap, as far as V8s go.
yes! hehehe

Why are you guys talking about fuel efficiency? It's not really part of the question, and a V-8 does not necessarily mean bad fuel economy. Suppose it's a 1.0L turbo diesel V-8 hybrid in a 1500 lbs. car.

My Tahoe has a very nice V8 & drives circles upon circles around that dog, so yes, I love having a V8 in my SUV...Wouldn't want anything less powerful than this...Ever...
