Do you refuse to watch full screen movies?

My girlfriend often criticizes my tastes at the rental store, be it action over her girly tastes, or rude comedy over the new feel-good family flick that just came out. But the one thing she has learned to live with is that if the movie isn't in widescreen, we don't rent it. Period. I do not own a widescreen TV for it to be wasted, I want my money's worth!

Are many of you out there like me?

 

Yup, only widescreen for me. And I still have a 4:3 TV.

I prefer widescreen but if all they have is full I'll watch it. I won't purchase anything but widescreen though.

If I have a choice, I'd pick wide screen.... but most TV series are usually full screen only.

I got the fullscreen indiana jones DVD set for x-mas. I didn't even realize until just after I had opened the package. I had to fight with the managment of Wal-mart to get an exchange.

Whatever. Full screen is better. I hate those little black bars covering up half of the TV! You people must like looking into darkness for no reason. Why not use all of the parts of your TV screen equally? Discrimination?

Same here. Owning a 16:9 TV has it's perks.

Same here. If my mother accidentally picks up a standard screen DVD that she knows I wanted, I end up returning it for widescreen. I figure one day I will have a widescreen TV, and want to be prepared.

I hate watching full screen. I've got a few movies (Dr. Strangelove, Happy Gilmore, Full Metal Jacket) that I just couldn't seem to find in widescreen so I had to settle. My g/f wanted to rent the second Charlie's Angels but it was only in P&S so I refused.

I like widescreen, but sometimes full screen is nice since I don't have a widescreen TV. I guess I can go either way.

Depends on the movie. If it's an action/sci-fi/epic movie I'll pass on it if there isn't a widescreen available.

But if it's a comedy or a more drama type movie no skin off my back if I grab the pan and scan version.

Widescreen.... P&S has that ugly feeling when you know something else is happening in the frame, but can't see it.

I don't know that I care that much. I watch movies to see the movie. My TV isn't exactly high quality, so I don't think that having a better quality DVD format is worthwhile.
