Do you say "Bless You!"

I must be going to Hell. I live alone, so whenever I sneeze, there's no one there to rescue my soul from getting sneezed out, or from whatever superstitious idiocy is supposed to happen to me.

Did it start because of that idea of your heart stopping? I have some slight irregularity in my heart; on occasion, I feel slight chest tightness, and cough a bit. My mom said it's some genetic thing that she had too, that the heart misses half a beat, or something like that. I forget the name for it.
Do I need to call out every time this happens, to get blessed right away? Because that genuinely is a bit of a heart issue, not something normal like sneezing.

I hate that this is a social custom. It's absurd. Why do I say it when someone sneezes, but not when they cough?

Thankfully, no one in my office says it, so I don't have to say it at work.

Being an atheist-leaning agnostic, it would be silly for me to say "Bless you" when someone sneezed. I find I get much better results if I simply urinate on the sneezer's leg. In the offchance there is a Satan, he's not going to want someone who is covered in piss, and it keeps said sneezer from such olfactory ejaculations in my presence in future encounters.

It's just being polite. It derives from superstition, but is now more commonplace as a sign of politeness.

I always say "Bless Me" everyone assumes that I am saying Bless You. I trick them into blessing me, only because they have entitlement issues

But what if the person sneezing is an aethiest or a satanist? Wouldnt say God Bless you be offensive to such a person????

I used to not say anything, because it's pretty stupid to acknowledge a sneeze. My wife kept getting pissed at me though*, so now I'm in the habit of saying it.
