I used to, back in the day. However, I find myself getting more and more conservative in my driving habits as I get older.

speeding? Always.

Recklessly? Rarely, but only when other vehicles aren't around.

speeding = two hands on the wheel, keep adequate distance in front, and rear for speed things happen a lot quicker at 100 and up. ALWAYS signal intent and give other drivers time to see intent. Eyes are constantly scanning for conditions front/sides/rear...where are other cars?

I usually do 5-10 over on roads with limits over 45. I stick to the limit for anything below that. I do drive crazily pretty frequently (sports car, that's why I bought it), but only when I'm alone in the car and on the road.

On normal streets that are 40, the most I would go is 60 but thats rarely. I like keeping it at about 50 or 40 depending on traffic. On the highway the speed limit is 60-65 usually but the flow of traffic is almost always 80+. I do 80 permitting traffic, but I've hit 100 to see if my car could handle it. It did and it was kinda scary (Both hands on wheel over 80)

If I had a car, I would drive at speed limit and on some occasions, go over 10-20mph. I only speed on the highway.

What is speeding anyway?

Once the needle on the speedometer reaches the peg I guess you could say yes.

I was driving home Saturday from a rally near Pomeroy.

2 lane country road. Posted 65mph. I ran it at 70-72 without much concern. Certainly speeding. Reckless? No way.

Speeding, I do this regularly.

Driving recklessly, I try to avoid doing this as much as I can. Unfortunatly, I am guilty of this when I am incredibly irritated on the road or I'm in a rush.

I wouldn't have phrased it quite like this, but thats about how I feel.

Driving a certain speed doesn't really bother me as much as people breaking the law and endangering others. I don't care how good you think are you behind the wheel. The fact is you probably aren't. Speed limits are set for a reason, often by engineers who take into account the curvature or inclination of a turn. They are also set in place to control traffic flow between lights, and when you speed to make the next one, you could plow through a pedestrian or someone not paying 100% attention when crossing the road because they didn't expect your dumb ass to fly through the intersection. This isn't just bounded by speeders, but you are more likely to run the light if you are flying and it turns yellow.

I do what I can to help minimize the possibility of hurting someone else, and staying at the speed limit or barely above it if I'm not watching accomplishes this in some capacity. I know, someone is going to say "if you are .000000000000001mph or 10000mph over, you are speeding" and I know this. I'm talking about the people with complete disregard for everyone else when they drive 10+ over the speed limit, especially in a residential zone. If you want to kill yourself on the interstate, go right ahead, but make sure you smash into something big and solid so you don't cause any collateral damage.

I don't automatically assign recklessness to speeding, but they often go hand in hand. Of course, many of you will think you are perfectly safe flying through a neighborhood or around corners, but I would call that reckless. Speeding on the interstate or big roads with more than 1 lane in each direction I would hesitate to call reckless but still ignorant since there is a speed limit for a reason.

I technically do speed but I personally limit myself to ~5 over. Sometimes hitting cruise will equate to around 6 or 7 over, but it's close enough .

I don't do anything reckless as I'd never try and put someone else's life in danger. Sure, I can kill myself being an idiot, but taking someone else out is just inexcusable. Reminds me of when I was chasing after this 300ZX that kept passing everyone for some unknown reason (we were all going 50 in a 45). So I stepped on it and caught up to him (VQ > VG, sorry) only going 60 (not too extreme, I've seen people go this speed normally on the road). We both ended up going on a turn-off to an on-ramp with one car ahead of him. The on-ramp has two lanes initially, one (left) to service people from the west side of the road and the other (right) to service people from the east side of the road. Well, most drivers from the west side tend to take the right lane. I knew the 300ZX was going to pass the car using the left lane and I wanted to follow, but to me, it was too close to even chance it. I bet I would've made it, but I won't try to pass like that with another car.

I'm an angry driver . If someone's going below the speed limit, I'll be the guy pointing at speed limit signs from behind . Also, what the hell is with people taking a mile to accelerate from 20mph to 45-50mph? Did they swap their engine with one from a 3 cylinder Geo Metro?
