Ditto, still got it. Monster 3D II. I should fire up Battlezone again.

Battlezone may have been one of the first multiplayer online games I ever played. That was such an advanced game for it's time. I loved it! I wish there were more FPS/RTS games out today.

The only old card I paid top dollar for was a Voodoo 4 PCI 32MB for $150 at EB games. After that, I bought my friend's Hecules TNT2 Ultra for $40. I replaced that with a GF2 MX200 for $50, which lasted me quite some time until I built my first rig myself, which was an AXP 1600+ system. I originally had an ATI Radeon 8500 64MB card in it that I paid $100 for, but my friend who helped me assemble the system told me his brother had a Gainward GF3 Ti200 golden sample in his computer, and swapped that out for me. His brother didn't even notice the difference, but I don't think I did either. lol. That system lasted me a good year and a half. Upgraded my entire system again, and bought myself a Connect3d Radeon 9500 128MB for $150 that softmodded to a 9700. All these cards can't really be considered top dollar, though, because I never really paid more than $150 for one, and that's pretty midrange. I think my new eVGA 6800NU counts, though. I hope it will last me quite some time.

Voodoo 3 3000 16mb
Voodoo 5 5500 64mb
GeForce 2 GTS/Pro 64mb DDR
GeForce 4 Ti 4600 128mb DDR
Radeon 9800XT 256DDR
GeForce 6800 Ultra OC 256mb DDR

Edit: Although the 9700 Pro can almost be considered "top dollar" just because $200 is still a lot of money (to me anyway), and more importantly, the 9800 Pro/XT of the day wasn't that much faster than it.

You know how to shop... $337 for 6800GT is a great price for that card now. In July, that was a steal.

Even though he says he paid "top dollar"

Top dollar would be the nearly $600 I paid for a 6800 Ultra

Well, top dollar for a 6800GT should be around $400 (I got mine in July for $408), and top dollar for a 6800 Ultra should be around $500-550, although I had a 6800 Ultra on pre-order in the past for $580, so I know the Ultras were hard to find at a decent price.

Even though I envy those with a 6800 Ultra.. I could never pay $600. I ordered a PCIE 6800GT for $400, thats my absolute limit!

I don't remember what I paid for cards generally. But it was never over $200. Best deal ever was a $84 GF2 GT x, v or a suffex, I forget now, that I overclocked to $400 GF2 ultra.

I still have my tnt 16mb and voodoo 2 card, i sold my geforce 256 ddr to a friend for 45; bought it for 275, still have my radion 8500 ( I don't think 15 dollars is enough to get rid of a good back up card i paid 200 for).

I sell any computer component that I possibly can before it gets too old. The oldest card I have is a Rage Pro 128. I tried to sell it, but nobody wanted it.

I remember paying top dollar for a 32MB Hercules 3D prophet right when it came out.

It recently died last month...when I gave it to a cousin years ago.

I still have my Creative TNT2 Ultra 32MB somewhere. Paid $175 for it when it first came out I think. Fan got too loud and the 2D wasn't that good so I replaced it with a G400 16MB.

Recently I bought the rig on my sig, so I kept the old one to be my son's first computer.

It's powered by a STB Velocity 4400 TNT 16MB, an Abit BH6 (overclockers dream) and a P2-400 @450.

My son is one year old, so he's not using it that much yet , but he loves to sit with me when I'm playing Need for Speed Underground 2, he actually makes car noises with his mouth , so that's why I decided to keep the old machine for him.

The TNT cost me around $175 when it came out (I think), and the processor cost me like $400 (damn), but it was that version that could have the multiplier unlocked by the BH6. That was the easier overclock you could think of LOL.

When he turns 3 I'll give him my current rig, so we can play head to head Need for Speed Underground, I'm sure by then he's gonna kick my butt.

"Dad.... are you going to buy me the Playstation 4 next xmas???..... Son, stay away from that crap, get this A64 2800+ with a 9600 PRO instead." hehe.
