There's nothing obsolete about using a widget that serves its purpose instead of being a mouse on a treadmill. Buy what you need. Don't let idiots and marketing change that.
There's a lot of people that think having the latest and greatest is the best. Take Windows 10 for example. HAHA Still a happy Win 7 user here and when the time comes I'm actually FORCED to use that fuckitry due to hardware incompatibility, I'll use Pfsense and block all of M$'s ASNs, and of course use Shutup 10. Of course by the time I do use 10 there will be a better program. Pretty damn unreal you have to run a program just to take back control of your own damn computer.
Anyway... The same can be applied to smartphones. Who in their right mind pays over $800 for a flipping phone?! My phone budget is $250 and no more. And even that is insane. In fact, my next phone purchase will be a Samsung S7.
In another instance was my computer. I just built a new computer last May shown in my Sig. The last computer was a Q6600. It served its purpose. I mean, the only games I play are old games like BF2 with the AIX mod, FSX, COD, BFBC2, and other older FPS's. I'm quite content with the games I have now, and no, I don't want steam. I prefer physical media. Although, I do want to purchase GTA V. I'll do that when I upgrade my GPU.
