Always a watch. A Timex Automatic for work, a Vostok Amphibia for knocking around the house or working on the car, my grandfather's Longines for dress when I want a wristwatch, and a Waltham PS Bartlett pocket watch if I'm really putting on the dog.

I pop out my phone whenever I need the time. I'm generally pretty picky about my watches, and I don't like to wear expensive watches (read: anything over $20). Therefore, I don't wear watches because I can never find one I like {I did find one once, but after a few months, someone who was repeatedly punching my arm broke the band }).

OP should probably add another option.
I wear one occasionally. Most of the time, I just use my cell phone but sometimes its rude to keep busting out your phone just to tell time.

Timex watch for running/other exercise, and a nicer watch for dressier occassions. I dont wear one to work, or on the weekends usually.

I used to wear one all the time but the band broke and I never replaced it so I've just been using my cell phone for the last few months. I keep meaning to pick up a new watch at somepoint but never seem to get around to it.

Yep...well, normally anyway. I broke another dammed watchband...ripped it in half again.(fucking cheap Chinese crap Casios anyway)
Oddly enough, I've gotten so I really don't miss it that much, and use my cell phone for a clock when I'm out. I will get a new band one of these days, but finding one to fit my wrists is a PITA. The stock ones that come with watches just don't fit. At best, I can buckle it in the very first hole. No more.

Lets just go with what you generally do.

Yup.

It's annoying as all hell to haul a mobile out of your pocket to check the time, and I can wear my watch swimming/diving/all the time.

Plus I don't have pockets/pockets that could comfortably hold a mobile in my boardshorts, which I wear most of the year when not at work.

The only watch I wear is a gift from my wife years ago when we first met, with a Claddagh Ring face.

It needs a new band/battery as it's nearly 11 years old.

A watch is far more convenient thatn a cell phone because it's attached to your wrist.

TO check th time you just lift your arm and look at it.

WIth a cell you have to stop what you're doing grab the cell from you belt/pocket/whatever, hold it up to see the time, put it back where it came from, then go back to what you were doing.

I have a watch, and wear it daily. In fact, when my old watch died, it took me 2 months of searching for a new watch, very picky about them

I gave up on wearing watches in the 80's. Somehow I always manage to break the bands and the watch would end up sitting someplace for ages until I would remember to replace the band.

Wearing a watch is more than just for looking at time.
Like what?
Maybe if I had a James Bond sort of watch, then I'd have a few ideas.
