Blair and his government have decided not to let extreme preacher Omar Bakri back into their country. They have said they will modify civil rights laws if necessary to block non-citizens like Bakri who preach hate and violence.

Here is a quick link to some things Bakri has said: Kill Kill USA, Nuke Nuke...

Do you support this move in GB? The US has already taken somewhat similar steps, although it seems that GB is perhaps going even further than we have.

Yes, but with reservations - I'd like a very strict overwatch of the people deported under this policy to make sure it's not abused.
More than 300 demonstrators, led by extremist Muslim cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed, chanted: "Kill, kill USA, kill kill George Bush."

Other calls included: "UK, you will pay, Zarqawi is on his way" - a reference to fugitive al-Qaeda mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Yeesh. I'm 100% for free speech, but not free speech that inspires one member of the community to kill another. Dude needs to get on an airplane.

I think it is a good idea. People like Bakri are the ones responsible for brainwashing and recruting young muslims to be terrorists. I think we must take a stand against these radical clerics.

So let me get this straight.. if I go outside in London and start saying stuff like "I don't support the war, you sons of bitches killed tens of thousands of innocent people" and "Terrorists have a good damn reason to hate you so don't be surprised when they try to blow you up!" I will be deported? Fvck that

See, I don't know. I kind of like that whole "Free speech" clause in the Bill of Rights, don't you?

There is a difference between being able to speak your mind and threatening to kill people.

The former is the right to say anything smart or stupid, the latter is a felony and quite possibly treasonous.

I wouldn't doubt that a lot of potential terrorists are here illegally, since the southern border is wide open and a perfect opportunity for someone of ill intent to sneak across. Deport the illegals and seal the border. That'd be one major security hole closed.

Any non-citizen who advocates violence against innocent people should be deported.

Any citizen who advocates violence against innocent people should be jailed.

Who are you (or anyone for that matter) to interpret the Constitution? Seems rather cut and dry to me. Even if what the extremists are saying is threatening to America, as far as the law is concerned, they're protected until a violent act occurs.

Did some research into Supreme Court cases involving this issue and found one that may apply to this instance:

Brandenberg v. Ohio 395 U. S. 444
The Court ruled that words that merely advocate, but do not incite violence, cannot be proscribed.

Granted this is more in speeches, but what's the difference honestly?

Edit: Here's more.

Clarence Brandenburg was convicted under a state law of criminal statements that proclaimed the "necessity or propriety" of acts considered violent or unlawful.

Later, in reversing the conviction, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the government could not "forbid or proscribe advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such actions."

The decision reflected the court's understanding that political passion often drifts toward violent expressions. Thus, conservative columnist Ann Coulter is allowed to suggest "we should invade (Muslim) countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." More recently, Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn's chief of staff is allowed to proclaim, "I don't want to impeach judges. I want to impale them!"

Certainly not. It goes against the very soul of what my country is all about, the freedoms it was founded upon. Taking these away is conceding the victory to terrorism (while continuing to waste billions a day pretending to fight it). Making threats can be considered a crime, and as such the usual measures should be taken against those who do so. But deporting people for their beliefs? No way.

Show me the extreme Christians in the Middle East inciting hatred and blowing people up and I'll hand them a one way ticket out of there.

That free speech stuff is OK until it comes to the rebel flag, eh?

If rational Muslims would take care of business, we wouldn't have a problem with extreme Muslims. If they won't, then send them all home.

Seems a valid question. I thought all the extreme Christians were here in the US cheering the terrorists on. (Those whackos with the "Thank God For IEDs" and so on.)
