Do you think drivers of fuel efficient vehicles (30 mpg+) should get priority parking?

No. Gas guzzler's should have priority parking to save fuel.

i wouldn't call the spots that are closer to the road to be priority.

I don't really care either way. I don't mind to walk unlike the lot lizards who drive up and down 10 times, then wait for 10 minutes while someone puts groceries in their trunk.

Err, the store owns the parking lot right? So they can do whatever they want with it.

I agree. That's why we're talking about priority parking.

The only thing, how does it really help anything to have priority parking for those vehicles? Is it because there's power outlets you can plug your car in?

Pretty much. Of course they can only hope for voluntary compliance, and most people are assholes so those signs won't make a difference.

I've always found it funny that people care so much about the distance from their car to the door, and the time they spend in line to check out. People will walk around the store 4 times and spend an hour there, but once they're ready to leave that 5 minute wait in line and the 100 ft walk to their car are brutal.

Only for those "smart cars" with no trunks or storage (and motorcycles), and then only at Big Box retailers and Huge discount supermarkets.

I always laugh at that too. We live like, 2 minutes from the mall. My mom will drive there, if she can't find parking 10 feet from the mall she just goes home. LOL. I've actually been in the car with her when she does this. I'll tell her "there's a spot overthere" she'll say it's too far.

I can MAYBE understand when it's pouring rain, but in winter there's no excuse not to walk far.

Holy crap, that's sad.

What I want to see is a tax incentive for fuel efficient cars. I driven nothing but all my life and watched the guzzlermongers drive my price up with their usually unwarranted demand.

Fuck no.

I should clarify that I think the store owners should have every right to do whatever they wish on their property but I don't personally agree that someone should have preferred parking just because their car gets better MPG.

No, if anything since they get better gas mileage they should have to park furthest away and the lower MPG vehicles should get priority for shortest distance driving around in the parking lot.

So if a gas guzzler backs into a parking space at the same time a fuel efficient car drives in head first, who gets the spot?
