Meh, its a free country and he didn't break a workplace rule.
But he can and has faced the full fury of the Red Blooded American social backlash.

Sad that everyone missed the actual message and immediately starts in on him and his past then add in his on the job performance.

Hard to say minorities are oppressed while playing in a league full of minorities that are making millions.

I'd buy his bullshit more if he used some of his money to help the people he claims are oppressed
Its pretty ignorant to say because minorities play in the NFL oppression doesn't exist

I am a lifelong Atheist/Anarchist/Socialist. I ALWAYS stand and am silent at observations that are not held by me. I (attempt) to honor the intensity of what is being professed. It is a solemn moment. (I don't kneel) I respect that people feel other than I do.
I watch NFL. I don't watch a game Mike Vick participates in. I know I am not missing much but SF got added to the list. It is his right but this is mine.

That's the way of doing it when you have manners and also the self-awareness to know that disrupting what others see as honor-worthy is generally counterproductive to what you're trying to accomplish. Kaep also has numerous other venues for expressing his position that would have made his point better able to be heard and comprehended by the target audience. People tend to close their ears to what you're saying when you choose a 'shock value' delivery method like burning a flag or publicly sitting during pledge, et cetera since people can just focus of what you did rather than engage with the content of your speech.

The whole thing seems pretty disingenuous to me. He's garbage and losing relevancy, so it could be a last ditch effort to remain in the spotlight.

I don't see him financially supporting any charities that go towards the cause of which he claims to support, so again, the whole thing just seems like a publicity stunt to me.

he's islamic?

The story that I read is, he converted to the Nation of Islam (Black Islam, Malcom X, etc.) because of his girl friend. If he wanted to make a statement that actually accomplished something he picked a piss poor way of going about it. The only thing that he has accomplished is to make a spectical of himself and to look like a juvenile attention whore. JMHO...

Why is it that people think the only way to support causes is through finances?

He's rich. What's wrong with him spreading a little money around? Other than that, does he donate his time / name to what he would deem a worthy cause?

Why is it that people think the only way to support causes is through finances?

I don't know what he does with his time or money, do you?

How is money going to solve the issue that he is protesting? How will money solve oppression of minorities?

Because that's the most common means that people of his status and tax bracket support different causes?

What else is he doing? Words don't mean shit.

Awareness.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

A cop might see the Kaep headlines and think twice before putting two hunks of lead in a black speeder, who is shuffling for his license.

This is more or less a back peddling effort to tie his own selfish and disrespectful act into something relevant, because, of course, there are not enough news about BLM or people being "oppressed" in the US...

Of course, you're free to see the issue your way. I'm just telling it like how I see it.

Evidently, here's Kaepernick being oppressed by white folks:

And here he is oppressed by white privilege:

When you put some of these in perspective, they really make Kaepernick's proposition quite silly, don't they?

Screw him. If he doesn't want to be an American I say we deport his ungrateful ass.

He's certainly not in a position to complain about oppression considering his background of being adopted by two WHITE parents and making $19M a year.

If it is NFL policy that we play the national anthem before every game, any player that does not stand up should be sent to the showers and lose the pay for that game as a fine. Either that or give the player a 3 games suspension.

And not a single change will occur in spite of it. Just like all the protests.

Actually it's worse than that. I would argue he did HARM to the movement he was trying to help, as it gives the opposition ammo to paint supporters as unpatriotic and unAmerican. His little stunt took away sympathy in trade for exposure.

Excellent pics and captions that clearly define what the indignation of this piece of trash is all about.
