I don't know that he is a creep. I know that a few women alleged he did creepy things, and then his peers threw him under the bus for political reasons
Fucking wimmins.

He hasn't left the Senate. Where is the proof? I've heard only he-said, she-said and he denies all of it.No, Al Franken deserved to be removed from the senate based on his own actions. You don't think a pattern of sexual harassment warrants removal from the senate?
No, but I am enjoying your ilk sacrificing the wrong lambs, jackassit's an American cultural problem dumbass. just because politics and entertainment are in the spotlight doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist in business or rural America.
thankfully the ignorance of your ilk is going the way of the dinosaur no matter what you think.
You already used that line. If you are going to post more cartoons, I prefer Far Side. Thanks!Fucking wimmins.

There is definitely a much needed sea change going on regarding the treatment of women in the workplace, but unfortunately with pendulum swings it has a habit of swinging too far and unforeseen consequences tend to pop up. No doubt HR departments are reanalyzing how they treat sexual harassment and that's a good thing, but I've already heard talk of things like shaking hands being lumped into unprovoked physical contact, having a three foot halo around them that you aren't allowed to breach uninvited, and other absurd things.
Not sure if those examples are legit or not but I'm sure policies will be enacted to protect the company (or gov agency) from liabilities and those policies don't always make sense. Look what happened in schools with zero tolerance rules and such, in an effort to protect against lawsuits common sense tends to go out the window.
Given this newfound fear of liabilities surrounding it what do you think (if any) are the downsides for women? I can see companies shying away from hiring women - not officially, some other reason will be found not to hire - out of fear of sexual harassment lawsuits. Especially in smaller companies whomever is doing the hiring might think it's best to just not hire a woman rather than risk it. And will when there is blow back over all of this - and there will be - will that just work to undermine legitimate complaints?

Not if you can keep your hands to yourself.
Imagine believing this.

Dear #metoo white knights - Go ahead and show us the threads you've made calling out hollywood rape culture, demanding congress release the names, demanding an end to the institutional rapey fund in d.c. etc.
I know your heart is in the right place. I just need confirmation. Help a brotha out.
Eagerly waiting!
A quote from Franken's "resignation" speech.
"Because all women deserve to be heard and their experiences taken seriously. I think that was the right thing to do. I also think it gave some people the false impression that I was admitting to doing things that in fact I haven't done. Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others I remember very differently. I said at the outset that the ethics committee was the right venue for these allegations to be heard and investigated and evaluated on their merits. That I was prepared to cooperate fully and that I was confident in the outcome."
I understand fully that to the typical leftist this an admission of guilt. But he has admitted to nothing. You may 'feel' that it is, but it isn't.
His shtick for many decades was to cop a feel whenever the opportunity arose. Butts, boobs, they both worked for him.
Shall We Dance, Al Franken? What About That Time in Montana?
But he deserves due process. Why is he not demanding any - yet?

From where I sit, liberals have been far more consistent in believing allegations of sexual misconduct, regardless of who is being accused. While conservatives deny every allegation against conservative journalists (O'Reilly, Ailes) or republican pols (Trump, Moore), and accept all the allegations against dems and Hollywood types.
Liberals don't need to answer your silly charge of hypocrisy here. Or comply with your ludicrous demands to prove that someone has said something highly specific, like "I condemn Hollywood rape culture." It's enough that liberals aren't supporting people like Weinstein, Spacey or Cosby, while conservatives support every asshole who is a member of their tribe.
He's denied or, 'doesn't remember things the same way' pretty much all of it except the picture.
Pst. The "we liberals are the true good guys" schtick makes the lack threads MORE pathetic.

I don't disagree but I am still concerned that the calling wolf mentality might taint the much needed progress. Oops! Shit, I just used the word fu*kwit oppressed white males fear in their very manhoods. They're gonna fight and fight real hard.In my opinion this is why this movement is so important. In areas where sexual harassment isn't tolerated, a minor offense typically leads to some training and a write-up. If the offenses continue, then the repercussions escalate accordingly. In cultures where it is simply overlooked, it just runs rampant, until years later it leaks out into the public for high profile cases, and people end up losing their livelihood because of how far its gone. If we develop a culture where its not tolerated, correction can take place before it reaches this level.

Here's the thing with due process, it has existed for as long as this country has been a patriarchy. What you guys fail to understand is that it's nearly impossible to prove that these things happen without women wearing ass cams 24/7. Rape charges are one of the hardest things to get to stick to a man unless the woman buys a rape kit within 12 hours of being raped.
All of the men that have gone down in this recent outing of creeps have a distinct pattern of behavior that is corroborated across multiple incidents. None of these men were fired for a single case of sexual harassment, and usually no single accusation has that kind of power behind it.
The means of proving guilt in these types of cases are inherently biased towards the male and require that the female go to great lengths to be able to actually prove anything. I'm not sure how many women you guys know have been sexually harassed or abused by someone above them, but at my age (30) it's a perfect 100%. That's every single female friend that I have, including my own mother who was a victim of an attempted rape, coincidentally the guy walked because there was no hard proof to get a conviction.
TLDR: Women have literally always had the looming threat of sexual misconduct used against them as a means of suppressing the truth. If men are beginning to fear that their actions will be used against them, that is a net positive for society. If you were raised correctly to respect women and treat them as equals, not an object of lust or affection, you have nothing to worry about. If you fear something you did was inappropriate, ask the recipient if they thought it was, if it was, apologize and ask for an explanation of why you made them uncomfortable.
