Do you think what the skateboarder did to the McLaren is justified?

There are a lot of haters. Sad. Anyway, the McLaren ran the stop sign. I've accidentally run thru stop signs and zebra cross walks before. I'm only human. Everyone is prone to mistakes. The issue here is the $250k car. When most people see such a nice car, they get angry. They mistakenly think the driver is an a-hole. He's privileged, etc..

The bottom line is what the kid did wasn't right. Maybe he was having a bad day. When the driver blew his horn it put the kid over the edge. So, he smashed the window,

Value of the car is irrelevant.
the asshole could have been driving a Hyundai and the kid probably would have done the same thing.

The passenger of the McLaren yelled something at him and the next thing I heard was a SMASH!

The driver and passenger both fled the scene before the police could have responded. Something seriously shady with those guys and they clearly had something to hide.

The skater is a hero.

The passenger was chasing the kid, or didn't you watch the video? And the driver got out of there before some other 15 year old piece of shit decided he was going to do something else.

Can't blame them for not involving the cops. They'll either beat the kid to a pulp or make it so nobody finds his body. People take care of these things on their own more often than not.

He was morally justified, and I am glad he did it, but I would not do it myself. I would sue for hitting me, loss of enjoyment from skateboarding, and emotional distress.

I agree. That's how criminals handle these things.

And just because the scumbag passenger fled in the same direction as the victim doesn't mean he was giving chase. He probably had warrants and just ran in the obvious direction. The driver was caught on video ignoring traffic signs before running down a child. It's no wonder he drove off, albeit slowly, most likely because he was high.

That. The kid reacted out of anger before he had a chance to think it through. If he had fallen to the ground screaming he would have caused a hell of a lot more problems for the driver than a broken windshield.

Driver recklessly drove through a stop sign and gambled with someone else's life and limb. He received instant consequences commensurate with his actions. Hopefully that will adjust his behavior, and act as a deterrent to others, which could save someone's life.

I'm assuming you mean his insurance company will pay for it and it won't impact him at all...

In my younger years I am ashamed to say I would have done the same thing as the kid. Now I think this retaliation is wrong. The driver is really stupid but not justified for the kid to smash his window. Skateboarder should have called the police.

Depends on his deductible and/or what they will do about his rates when it's time to renew. But if it doesn't impact him, why did he chase the kid?

The driver didn't "run" a stop sign. He came to a stop past the stop sign and in the cross walk. Which probably everyone has done many times when there's nobody around and you can't see cross-traffic from so far back from the intersection.

We didn't see what happened, but my guess would be the kid on the skateboard came out of nowhere. Yes, the driver fucked up. And when you look at the dozens of people on that street corner, he really fucked up. You don't drive like that when there are so many pedestrians around.

The passenger is out of car and after the kid so fast that you can almost be sure he decided on his own to give chase. The driver doesn't seem to be too damned concerned.

if you read the reddit comments many in the city have seen this asshole drive the same way before. Run a stop sign, make someone fall, honk your horn when you are at fault. No one feels sorry the driver.

Are you sure about that?

I was also talking about the YT comments and even the comments on this forum. Many people hate the rich. Why? Jealousy.

People need to audit what their doing everyday. Me included! If you want wealth are you willing to hustle. Weekends, on holidays, etc.. Are you willing to give up Netflix, video games, your weekend baseball games. If not, then don't bitch about other people having money.

BTW, the driver was an a-hole. No doubt he's a jerk. He was in the wrong. But, many people feel he deserved having his window smashed in because he was driving a very expensive car. That's all I'm saying.

I don't know how you can watch that video and not realize the passenger was chasing the kid. There's no other reason to be at a dead sprint right behind him.

Yes, few people stop behind the crosswalk or behind the stop line. Even if there isn't any traffic at all.

I would guess that most of the posters in this thread do not stop behind the stop line most of the time. And that all of us have done this many times.

The whole thing is shady. Why did the bystander film that intersection? He's has never seen a McLaren? Why not film the whole car not just the back?

Anyone know where this is? Many places have laws requiring people on skateboards to dismount and walk across a cross walk.

Given how many people I see stop past stop signs and the white lines at red lights it wouldn't surprise me at all

That's always a question I have whenever videos like this come out. What were they filming when they caught the event? Maybe I'm old enough to not understand it, and young people who have always lived in a world with phone cameras are in the habit of filming random stuff all the time... so they're just bound to catch something interesting eventually.
