Got the idea from the pizza thread, someone said they tipped 2 bucks on a pickup order. I never tip pickup orders.
Why would I tip when i had to go inside and pick it up?
The common arguments:
1) You're a horrible human being if you don't tip these poor underpaid peoples
2) They still do all the same work, ie take your order, bag up your stuff, and not spit in your food
3) They are unable to provide excellent service without tips

fuck that noise. I'm a generous tipper believe me. It's like going to McDonald's and tipping the cashier. why would i do that?
Do you guys tip the cashier if you pick up food at a buffet to go? Just saying.
I'm mostly frugal overall, but I'll tip on take out every now and then if it's a small business that I regularly go to. I feel a little weird leaving a small amount, but I figure that does add up eventually.I tip my local Mexican place when I pick up orders. Mostly because their food is awesome & dirt cheap anyway, so I want to help them stay in business.
Yeah... I used to supervise at a dine-in/take out place. We didn't get paid well and I was grateful for even $1 for an order that made it to the cooking crew. Waiters never shared any tips. So I usually leave a dollar, but I get why people don't.F the restaurant owners for causing this in the first place. Pay your workers an actual wage. Some restaurants say they get a good enough wage already and no tip is necessary. Common restaurants like Noodles & Co. If they can do it...
On the flip side some waiters know they make out better with the tipping system. F them too.
When I worked take out, even 50 cents felt good.I'm mostly frugal overall, but I'll tip on take out every now and then if it's a small business that I regularly go to. I feel a little weird leaving a small amount, but I figure that does add up eventually.
it is harder to spit in your food at the buffet
If you are so worried about spit in your food, better cook at home than eat at restaurants.
