Do you use Public Transportation?

I live in a smaller town in Nor Cal and it hit me that I have taken the bus all of once in this town. When I go to San Francisco I sometimes take the bus if I am going to be there for a while. When I moved to Steamboat Springs for a few months I used the bus there but only cause I had no car and riding a road bike in the snow is pretty crappy.

Anyone else never take the bus? Or am I the reason why we invade foreign countries for oil?

Haven't been on a bus since 1963.

I live in a small town north of Raleigh, NC. While there are busses in Raleigh, there aren't any which run from my town to Raleigh and back so I have to drive. Even if there were, I don't have fixed hours for my job so it makes fitting my schedule into a bus schedule rather difficult.

Ok. Ive never been to New York, but im told that most people who live there don't own a car, and if they do, don't use it unless they leave town. Thats why they don't count.

I use public transportation in bad weather and bike in good weather.
I don't own a car.

Other than the school bus for the kids, there is no public transportation within a 15 mile radius of our home.

When I lived near Scranton, PA for 18 years, I used the COLTS Bus System all of maybe 4 or 5 times.

I live in Atlanta which means that there is just way too much sprawl to make taking MARTA (our public transportation) a viable solution. The trains are decent if you're going from a location near a station to another location near a station, but that's an insanely small portion of the city. Here it would take me at least twice, often three times, as long to get to my destinations if I were to use public transportation. On top of that, it's also much more expensive than driving since I have a car with fairly good gas efficency.

I take the train sometimes. I have never used the public bussing system, but I use the bussing system between my university's campuses all the time.

Nope. I don't like the idea of having to rely on someone else to get from point A to point B. I have an uncle who lives in Tinley Park but works in Chicago. However to get to work he has to take two different trains. If one is behind schedule that throws off his entire day because he misses the 2nd train. That just recently happened. Took him over an hour to get home from work. He was pretty fed up at that point and has started driving into work with his massive cab and a half Chevy into work.
