On the computer... I always empty it as soon as I delete something... It's just become a habit.

i leave stuff in there sometimes just in case, but it never makes it beyond a day. and if there's something im sure i wont need, and my bin is already empty, ill just shift+delete the file.

Yes, I do. Since it is stored on my D: drive, its contents are carried over from each format. That way if I have second thoughts about throwing something away, it is easily retrieved. And it's not like I miss the hard drive space.

well I do... but I empty it at least twice a day... I just can't stand seeing that thing full... but it's saved my @$$ on a few occasions by depositing crap in there first for a few hours...

I don't know what is worse... having crap from 1996 in recycling bin or not getting a new computer for 8 years.

It's usually empty b/c when I delete I'm sure i need to delete something and i use SHIFT + DELETE, when i'm not too sure i'll send it to the bin.

I've set mine to not put things in the recycle bin upon deletion. But I still have a tendency to use Shift-Del.

IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY TO RECYCLE>> GIVING INCENTIVES, as well as providing a complete service, and not just select. Where I live, you cannot recycle styrofoam.

if feel very guilty

Interesting. I have three partitions on my drive, and each drive has a Recycle Bin folder. There's only one Recycle Bin icon on my desktop, and emptying it clears all of them.

I empty mine frequently. I also use Norton System Works, and I turned off their separate "Protected" Recycle Bin. I love System Works, but that thing is a waste of space and resources.

I'm amazed at how many people use their recycle bins for storage.

Case in point:

I was working on a CSR's computer (removing gobs of spyware none the less) and filled the recycle bin with some nasty stuff. As I right-clicked 'empty recycle bin' and confirmed it with 'Yes' the CSR said "Oh no, don't do that"....
"Why not?" I asked. "I keep files (mostly excell) I don't use that often in there."

I shook my head all the way across the street to get the copy of Winternals....

It's called a 'recycle bin' and looks like a TRASH CAN for a reason.

Yeah me too. I never leave anything in there for more than a few seconds.
