DOA card?

Hi all,
I've got a problem with a 9600 pro I just picked up from newegg for a friend's system- the sytem won't boot correctly, isn't giving any video output, and makes a quick series of beeps during POST... it's done this in both of the systems I've tried it in, one of which is my personal rig with a 650W Antec PSU.

Ths is a brand new card, so I just wanted to make sure that it's actually DOA and I'm not missing anything before I go through the hassle of RMAing it. Also, if it is DOA, any guesses on what's wrong with it? Just curious.
Thanks!

If there is any doubt as to whether the video card is the problem, then grab the motherboard manual (or locate the model # and download the manual from the manufacturer's website) and find out what those beeps mean, exactly.

Otherwise, I'd say yes, the card is dead, and you should call the video card manufacturer's tech support and/or arrange for an RMA.

BTW, one thing that might be worth checking out: Are you installing this card to replace on-board video (i.e. video directly on the motherboard)? If so, you may need to disable the on-board video in the motherboard's BIOS.
