Dodge Truck Owners!

I don't own one YET, but I'm a prospective buyer. I'm looking to buy next Spring and right now it's a tossup between the Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and the Toyota Tacoma Double Cab . . . or a car like a used Maxima

I've been driving my dad's Dodge Dakota Quad Cab this week while they've been in Hawaii. I LOVE it. The single most useful vehicle ever for my needs. It can haul a ton of stuff from Home Depot and still has plenty of people/cargo room inside. I like the roominess of it over the Tacoma, but the relatively poor gas mileage (I averaged 15-16mpg in mixed driving with the V6) and Toyota's top-notch reliability are going to make the decision tough.

Yep. I am also going Sep. 22nd with a bunch of friends who all have nice cars and trucks. I will have lots 'O pics and timeslips when I get back

Evad... where in the midwest? I am in minnesota! anyway, I have the 2" leveler kit.. not to bad, but your best bet is if you want a little lift but not an actual lift kit, buy a set of 2-3" Skyjacker Coils and throw those under the front, should be alright for all the factory parts and will give you the ability for 35" tires NO Problem!

When I buy a new truck (2004) I will buy the deisel motor. I am finding out they get much better mileage, and you can improve the horsepower much more than a gas motor. Fuel is cheaper too. My buddy has a deisel that will sit you back in your seat when you get on it, very cool.

I've been interested in getting a Dodge truck, just a 1/2 ton. But, seems like Dodges get the worst milage. Any of you guys want to post your gas milage? I assume the 4x4's are worse than 4x2's. I only have about 3000lbs to haul so a 1/4 ton 4x4 should be enough for me.

if you want a dodge... and gas milage... I would say forget it unless you wait for the New 5.7ltr V8 Hemi or go with a diesel... thats it. And I would get the 3/4 ton no matter what, I love my 1500 1/2ton but more and more I wish I would have gotten the 3/4!
