Does 560 ti 1gb slied= 2gb vram?

I want to sli my 560 ti. I'm getting a mobo with 2 pci e 2.0 x16x16. I want to know if I do sli them will I get 2gb of vram to use in full?

Or should I just take the money for the mobo and the graphic card and just buy a better graphic card . Couse since Bf3 takes up so much vram I have a felling that all the new games coming in the future are gonna be the same . The mobo is like 450 and the card is like 200 so thats my budget any ideas? I want to max out all my games till at least 2013 income tax . And I read if I get a 590 with 3 gb I'll only be able to use 1.5 gb not all 3gb .

No, they are still using 1GB of ram, even when SLI engaged. It is due to the bus is not sharing the memory.

They can't, it isn't broken in the first place either. That is just how SLI works.

Since each of the GPU's is on its own memory bus it needs a local copy of everything. Even on a dual GPU card.

There's no doubt that AMD and Nvidia are working on a way to pool memory for multiple cards, but it's going to take a shift away from AFR and SFR and no other techniques so far have shown good enough scaling to make it viable to move in that direction.

it has been that way since the Voodoo days. Nothing has changed and as RAM gets cheaper, it has less reason to not keep using the same approach of each video card needing a copy of all the data.
