Does a top blowhole help cooling all that much?

I was looking at the Lian-Li PC75 (full tower with side window) and I was going to order it because I like the fact that it has 4 fans in the back and I love Lian-Li. Until I saw that it does not have a top blowhole where as the midtower PC-65 does. So would I lose a few degrees by going for the 75 with no blowhole? Or is the difference not noticeable?

If you have a good fan layout, with the fans high on the back, then likely a top blowhole won't make any discernable improvement. It helps with poorly designed cases, or in situations where there are so many drives/cables/etc in the case interior that heat can't exhaust quick enough through the oem fan holes.

With the Lian-li you should be fine with the 4 fan layout sans blowhole, and likely would see maybe a 2-3 degree difference adding a blowhole.

Like 2cool said if the back blow holes are high it won't matter. However, we all know that hot air rises and a top blow hole in my case was very useful for getting rid of that hot air.

Cooling is not a big deal unless u have a lot of heat producing items inside there.

he's running a raid setup, a p4 o/c'ed, and 3 other hard drives.

heat is fine for him.

just make sure u get some quality fans for the case.

Well, I don't think the top blowhole on my Addtronics 6896A does much. The air coming out is pretty cool, and the partition, as well as the mess of wires inside probably means not much air is coming out from there. The side blowholes do the most, especially if you have them aimed towards your CPU. I get more than 10C temperature difference(case and CPU) when I have a Panaflo 80mm, 0.55A fan blowing towards my CPU.

That's the thing. I plan on running a Raid 0 setup with 2 Western Digital 80GB 8MB cache's, 1 WD 100GB 7200 RPM drive, and one IBM Deskstar 40GB. I also have the typical DVD, CD-RW, and a GF4 Ti4200. Right now I'm at 60/40 for the PC65. I don't intend to mod the cases any and I'm going to be using Antec 80mm case fans (as I get a discount on them $4 each).
