Does any one here have or used any of these fans?

The US web site for Vantec only shows 80mm models in that series. And a price search on the model didn't show anything either. I did a web search and saw them only showing up in relatively obscure countries. I don't see them on the Vantec Global site either. I would be suspicious about counterfeits unless there was sufficient evidence otherwise.

Thanks for the reply Zepper.

Would you say this is a better fan to get?

Cooler Master Silent LED Case Fan - 120mm

I want to use 1 as a case fan(Intake) and one with a Thermalright Ultima-90 Aluminium CPU Cooler .

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't use ANY LED fan on a CPU cooler. I don't see them list a specific CM part number for that. The CM LED is known for quiet but doesn't push much air (see the connection?) - I'd use it in a low restriction application like intake or exhaust. I generally use black ball-bearing fans on my CPUs. I'd consider a CM rifled bearing 120mm fan (these are like Panaflos, but aren't 38mm thick).

I'd choose this one - Zalman ZM-F3:
http://www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=2212154 . Sleeve bearing is OK as long as fan is operated in a vertical orientation. A recent comparo of fans put this one near the top. IDK if the LED version is anywhere close to the same mechanically. What you are looking for in a CPU or radiator (or anywhere there is significant restriction fan) is a fairly high static pressure spec. The CM LED is around 1.5mm H2O. Zalman doesn't supply an SP spec, but the test I mentioned showed that the ZM-F3 must be higher than that. I'll try to find the link to it.

XtremeSystems.org has had several very good group fan tests in the forums. silentpcreview.com also has fan tests focused on quiet rather than other factors.

Here are direct links to a couple of the review threads:

The Coolermaster in some ways are deceptive. They may not be included in silentpcreview articles (which means they have been rejected by them) but when you put them on a fan controller, they're pretty whisper quiet. At least I find but they're not as silent as the 120mm Scythe fan that came with my Scythe Ninja. I don't know why though but the 80mm Scythe fan that came with my Mini Ninja made a buzzing sound which I didn't like.

Hi coolpurplefan,

So would you say that the "Zalman ZM-F3" is the better of the lot also, from that website?

I use LED fans on all my coolers just because!

That cooler Master Fan pushes enough air they say 110 cfm....but in actuality you hit a wall so to speak where it doiesn`t natter how much air you have flowing you will not gewt any better temps.

I use only Cooler Master Fans in all my riggs! the point of diminishing returns is somewher between 45--60 cfm.
The cooler Master Fan easily does that and without much noise if any I might add!

Peace!!

Deceptive in what way?

Also you need to back up uour assertion that SPCR has rejected the Cooler Master Fans....
No site can test all the fans or PSU`s or even heatsinks that are on the market...

Just because a site doesn`t test a given product has no bearing on the quality of that product!!

Also SPCR is the same company that will rate a heatsink good or bad solely on the noise. even if the temps are not good!

So I think it`s very decieving on your part to use SPCR solely as the ONLY authority on a subject!!

+1 for the zmf3. I have one on order as well as a scythe ultra-kaze. they're to be pitted agianst my old 18v industrial fan I have left over from pulling vapors out of a sealed, LN cooled, lazer etching machine. I gotta see if I still have some of the aluminum business cards I made with that thing...

Those stock Coolermaster blue LED fans they put on their cases are good. At least the one that came with my case is. Not sure how their recent fans have been, quality may or may not have slipped.

There are TWO C-M fans that claim 110 CFM, but that's not the one the OP was talking about. He has a limited selection at the company he linked. Of those, the ZM-F3 seemed to be the best combo of CFM and noise. If I was sure the LED versions of the F3 were the same mechanically, those might be an option.

I said that based on a message on a forum on the silentpcreview site. The poster had a moderator or editor title so I know the post was legit. Anyway, they said they didn't feel the need to bash a company so if a product didn't pass the first tests, they simply didn't include it in the reviews. I also meant deceptive in the sense that they're not whisper quiet without a fan controller.

As for the other questions in this thread, I'm not sure. But the articles on silentpcreview on fans are pretty interesting.
