Does any one use the dell E171FP for gaming on this forum? few questions

I'm considering getting the Dell E171FP and i have a few questions

Is there a problem with ghosting on FPS games such as UT2K3.

does it come with DVI or analog (i'd like DVI)

how is the image quality and color.

Don't give me a link to the samsung review on AT here, i'd like personal experience with it posted

or can anyone suggest a better 17" LCD at a simmilar price that might b better for gaming and general usage

All I can say is that I have the samsung 191T (Dell 1900FP) and it is pretty good for UT2k3. It's not going to give you CRT response, but I have played quite a bit with it. DVI is a must though, and watch out for older games like counter strike. it looks pretty bad, but it might be to not being able to display 1280x1024 resolution. hope this is some help.

I have a Samsung 191T also, and I play games on it just fine, with my old GF3 ti 500 games did not display well at all at 1280x960, I always had to use 1024x768 if 1280x1024 was not an option. That usually fixed most of the trailing. Now with my radeon, 1280x960 is displayed just fine in games. DVI is a must on this display for gaming. Old games dont look so bad if you use 1024x768.

I have the 1702FP that I bought last year. I have not noticed any major issues with ghosting. About the only problem I have is presently attempting some sort of color matching for photo's and wish I would have bought the 18" model.

i have the E171FP lcd from dell.

to answer you questions

1.yes, you are going to notice ghosting on this monitor. i play quake and unreal, these fps games are not recommended.

2.no, it does not have a dvi connector

3.this lcd however has gorgeous colors and resolution, especially with true fonts enabled.
