Does anybody still sell books on Amazon?

I used to, it was a good place. Also used to sell books on ebay, which years ago was a good place for that, but not any longer.

I'm helping someone clean out their place, they have hundreds of books I can have for free. Yeah, i can donate them but I'm wondering if there's any way to make a few bucks.

I don't think there's money in books unless you have something particularly interesting. I'd sell interesting books on Ebay, and either donate the rest, or sell them at a yard sale.

my guess is that most/all of the book sellers on Amazon are brick and mortar used book stores who want the online presence to help clear out inventory.

I'm sure you'd make some profit if you don't have to pay for storage, but it might require sitting on the books for months or longer waiting for buyers (unless, as mentioned, any of them are particularly rare)

Check with a brick and mortar used book store. I've brought boxes of books into one near me, and they pay for the 'bulk' books. Not much mind you, but instantly getting rid of boxes of books and getting some cash is better than using all the time to sell them separately.

Not to mention that most books would sell for less than postage to send them (unless of course you have leatherbound Dickens or nicer books).
