does anyone actually drink bud light?

I only drink once in a great while and its usually Killians or Amber Boch.
This guzzling case after case of cheap beer never made sense to me.

Yet - people in America eat up. I can't figure out how things that taste so awful are so popular in the US.

If it makes the people who drink it feel any better, Belzian beer is far worse. It's like sugar water. So, I take my 1st comment back, American beer is shit.

I agree. I only drink Guinness. US beer is really piss. Funny thing is, I spend a lot of time in Munchen (Munich) and a lot of my German friends and colleagues like Bud. Totally blew me away. I guess its different to them but its shit to me.

the fact that it has the most sales and is sold elsewhere does not mean that it is popular elsewhere. the fact of the matter is that in the US bud light by itself outsells miller lite and coors light combined. it is 40% of ABI's shipments in the US by itself. it's by far the biggest selling beer in what is the largest beer market by dollar sales. that's enough to make it no. 1 worldwide even though barely anyone under 40 drinks it and barely anyone outside the US drinks it.

i just don't know anyone personally who drinks it.

we get miller lite if at texans games and one of the local microbrew selections at astros games.

and having one at a place with barely any selection hardly makes someone a bud light drinker in the usual sense of the term.

Yup. I don't drink much Bud light in particular, but I do regularly drink Keystone light, coors light, and miller light. They all pretty much taste the same, so it's generally whatever's on sale the week I go to the store.

I'm not too much of a beer snob. I do like going to the liquor store and picking up new and interesting beers... and they're good, but at ~$8 (or more) for a 6 pack, they end up being more of a treat than a regular beer for me.

I'd never buy it. If I'm playing drinking games with my friends or on football Sundays, I'll bring some Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Heineken, or something like that that's easier to drink.

I prefer IPA's to any beer, but they're not the type of beer I like drinking in those situations.

Last week I was golfing and there was also a scramble going on. I passed by a hole and a keg of Bud Light was sitting there, unattended, with a stack of plastic cups. I helped myself .... was awful....but it was hot out and it was beer, so I drank it.

I always liked Rolling Rock. It had a peculiar grassy taste I liked in the summer. I don't get it anymore since they were bought out.

ok this is a weird corporate structure:

about 6 years ago molson merged with coors to create molson coors. i had thought that molson coors was bought by SABMiller. turns out the two companies formed a JV, MillerCoors, to jointly market their swill in the US (which is why both use the tagline 'great beer, great responsibility').

so, molson coors is in denver. and montreal. joint headquarters.

i was in vancouver a couple of weeks ago and I saw a couple of guys on separate occasions carrying coors 12 packs out of grocery stores.... i thought it was kinda funny, i guess its a top shelf import for them.
