Because of Kaido, I might have to finally get Instant pot or equivalent. We use stove top pressure cooker for braising beef short ribs and if we need to cook rice quick. But electric pressure cooker would be easier to use since it's plug and play. But I also need to buy another electric rice cooker. The Zojirushi we had for years is on its last leg and we're using backup model Zojirushi which isn't as good. I'm tired of putting up with sub par rice.

Having just spent $1200 flooding my homes with Netgear Orbis, I'm curious why you think this?

<3 my Orbis. Pricey but definitely the best residential wireless system I've ever used. Aside from actually covering EVERYWHERE thanks to the great wireless backhaul system, it consolidates all of the antennas into a single SSID so you're not connecting to 2.4ghz downstairs or 5ghz upstairs or whatever, it's all just one name. Glorious.

Yeah, I like the plug & play aspect a lot...as soon as the timer finishes, it automatically goes into keep-warm mode, so it's not like a stove where you have to worry about turning off the burners. Plus it has a bunch of safety features, which I appreciate because I'm skeered of the old manual ones

I would suggest getting an Instant Pot first & trying the rice out before you go with a replacement electric rice cooker (ping me for some recipes, I have some good techniques for excellent rice). If you happen to have a Kohl's card, they are on sale for $69 right now:

Really my only complaint is that the IP doesn't hold rice (warm, for hours) as well as an electric rice cooker. I think part of that may be because the IP has a stainless-steel bowl instead of a non-stick bowl like my Tiger had. Hmm. I'll have to try a batch of rice in my Gowise electric pressure cooker to compare (it has a non-stick bowl).

I need separate quality rice cooker because I need a unit that can hold rice for hours and still be good the next day. It's convenience factor and something only expensive rice cookers can do well. If I only cared about cooking the rice and not holding the rice for hours or overnight, I would just buy cheap $30 rice cooker from Costco or use something like Instant Pot and be done. My cheap backup Zorjirushi rice cooker has problem holding the rice. Rice tastes like crap if I don't eat it right away.

Yeah, in that case you definitely want a dedicated unit then. That's really the only downside of the Instant Pot for me...it's not good at holding rice for a whole entire day.
