This is absurd. The best team on the field was most certainly Florida. There's a key part of the game of football called DEFENSE. Florida's defense prevented OU from scoring. The Sooners didn't blow anything; they were hit in the mouth by a defensive performance for the ages. The monster hit on the third play of the game set the tone, and the 2nd INT by the Gators late in the game is a play we'll remember forever.

The Gators were the best team tonight.

Tim Tebow was also the best Heisman winner on the field tonight.

Yeah, two trips inside the 10 and no points to show for it. OU really didn't hurt themselves at all.

The monster hit on the third play of the game was a missed PI call.

Tim Tebow had a mediocre passing performance and a pretty good rushing performance. I'm not saying Bradford had a better performance, but neither were anything to write home about.

Percy Harvin was the difference changer and is the reason UF won.

UF didn't win this game, OU lost it.

Right. Because the defensive part of the game, which FORCED ou to 'lose it', is pretty much meaningless in football.

Florida: 480 yards of offense, 2 Turnovers , 34:57 Time of Possession
Oklahoma: 363 yards of offense, 2 Turnovers, 25:03 Time of Possession

Game was controlled by Florida.

That pick right before halftime was more fluke than force.

The goalline stand was semi impressive but more bad playcalling by OU than anything.

No shit. Stoops was greedy when he should have realized 'omg this is a defense!'.

Kick the fg next time coach. That's what those little soccer player guys are given a scholarship to do. Then again, florida probably would have blocked it anyway.

OU didn't hurt themselves - Florida hurt them when they bitchslapped OU in the face and took the ball away.

A missed call was the OU horse-collar tackle on Rainey that knocked him out of the game.

UF won because of Tim Tebow. Percy had a huge game, but the Gators beat Alabama without him. They (the Gators) don't win shit without Tebow.

UF won this game with offense, defense, special teams, and coaching.

What does UF/Bama have to do with tonight?

Without Harvin, UF loses this game easily. He was what ignited their offense.

The Gators beat the #1 team in the nation without Percy Harvin in December.

It means they have a precedent for winning games against the #1 team without Percy Harvin.

Not saying it's likely, but it's happened before. In their prior game, in fact.

Tim Tebow ignited Florida's offense. I don't get why this is so hard to understand.

Maybe because AL should have never been the #1 team? Did you see their bowl game? Beating a #1 w/o Harvin in a previous game has NOTHING to do with this game. Don't get me wrong, Tebow had a good game... but Harvin wins it for them this time.

I will harp on this shit until I die and even then some of you people will still never understand. I don't know if it's because of a lack of competitive sports earlier in life but here is how it played out for Alabama.

Hell yeah, if we win tonight we're going to the national championship!
Later...
Damnit... we lost and since we lost late in the season we get dropped below all the other one loss teams and play.... UTAH. Utah, coach? Are they even D1?

If we had a playoff that game may have turned out a lot differently much like how the Oklahoma/Boise State probably would have been different in a playoff scenario. These big schools have NOTHING to play for in these games. If they win no one cares because they were expected to win. Ha look, Alabama looked great... beating Utah who was obviously overrated coming from a crappy conference. Yet when the big conferences come out flat because they don't give a shit after just missing the national title and having NO chance to get a split they play bad and sometimes lose.

With that being said, we need a playoff so stupid conversations like this don't need to happen again. Some say it means the system is working if people are talking about it yet I find myself falling more in love with the NFL year while I care a lot less about college football as the system continues to show its retardery.

colt mccoy - more wins as a starter, more touchdowns, more bowl wins as a starter, more completions, more passing yards, better completion percentage, better qb rating. i could go on.

Tebow has 105 touchdowns 2006-2008 (passing:66 rushing:43)
McCoy has 99 touchdowns 2006-2008 (passing:83 rushing:16)

Tebow>McCoy

Tebow's combined QB rating from 2006-2008 = 183.2
McCoy's combined QB rating from 2006-2008 = 159.1

Tebow>McCoy

EDIT: I did see Colt McCoy with higher numbers in one category that stands out.

Tebow interceptions 2006-2008 = 9
McCoy interceptinos 2006-2008 = 32

I could go on, but I don't feel the need too prove any further that your pulling your shit from your ass.

Here is what I want to know.....I witnessed it with Auburn fans.

When did college football fans become conference homers? My team is Clemson University. I do not care about the ACC more than I do my tigers. When Clemson played in the peach bowl a year ago, we lost to Auburn. Most of the time you expect fans to be proud of their TEAM.

Instead, as we exited the stadium, all the fans could do was cheer "SEC, SEC,SEC". I mean really? Really? You are so proud of your conference?

When did conference loyalty become such a big deal? There is only one team I care about. It is the Clemson Tigers. I don't care about the conference. Will I discuss the merits of each conference strength? Sure. In football the SEC is the best conference hands down. Just like in basketball, the best conference is the ACC. In baseball, the best conference recently is the ACC. But that doesn't mean every team in the best conference is worth a sh*t. Once again in football this year, Clemson was extremely subpar. We played an SEC middle of the road team in South Carolina. South Carolina plays in the mighty SEC. We stomped their asses once again.

Bama lost the sugar bowl to utah because bama didn't care to play in a consolation prize game. If they would've been in the championship game, they would've beat Oklahoma easily. Their defense would've given Bradford & Co. fits all night long, and their running game would've kept time-of-possession in Bama's favor.

I'm just sayin.

The whole time the Utes were kicking Bamas azz up and down the field the other night everyone watching the game pretty much agreed thay everyone would say that......

They got way to much credit early on when they killed a VERY overrated Georgia team. BAMA was the most overrated team in the SEC all year long.....

So I guess Georgia's early season #3 ranking, then the COMPLETE collapse ruled them out of being the most overrated team in the SEC all season? With Bama beating Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Miss St, and toying with Auburn?

Really?

Wake up dude.
