Does anyone else boycott Real?

I havent used this product in years and never will again..I agree with everything negative said about it!

What are the numbers on it now anyway? (I know when I used it a couple years ago it seemed like you needed it for almost everything) What percentage of major sites actualy use rm and how many people actualy download it? I know Gateway computers come with it preinstalled along with AOL preinstalled.....

i have Real installed on my rig but it's strictly to watch my library of simpsons episodes, i have 7 seasons but some re-re decided to code them in real format so i'm stuck w/ it. i agree w/ everyone else, i just turned off ALL file associations in "real one" except for .rm support.

Ha, even my daughter noticed that Real is a pos, and doesn't want it on her computer.

Nahhh Quicktime is a small and calm little app, RealPlayer is the spyware-full, bloated, MS-like big bad player.

You are correct. Quicktime is probably the best as far as not 'dicking' with your settings. In truth I want quicktime to play quicktime files (what a concept!) and nothing else. It doesn't maul your associations nearly as bad but you still have to 'opt-out' of everything during install to avoid it.

I find Quicktime is ok... In fact I love it because I forgot that I had it installed for months! Until I neeced it to view a trailer and it played it Try to install Real and pretend it's not there

Ugh! Just found out those sucker's hijacked the NBA audio season pass.

Instead of 29.95 for the season from nba.com its now on the realone $9.95 montly subscription. :|:|
