Does anyone go christmas caroling anymore?

Every year I see a couple of christmas commercials that show people christmas caroling. But does anyone do that anymore?

Probably in very wealthy neighborhoods where people have time to do crap like that. Certainly not around here.

Only once have I heard of a group actually caroling around here. Guess it's more of a flash mob thing these days.

People usually show up once a year here. Side effect of 90%+ of the neighborhood being churchies.

I was wondering about this myself 2 nights ago. Prob saw a commercial or something and thought about it. I don't know that I've ever seen anyoen going around singing. Certainly not around here. I've seen groups at the mall singing, but it's not the same. I just asked my wife who was born and raised here and she said it used to be a huge thing with the Fire Dept. driving their trucks slowly down the streets and tons of people riding along singing. It was decades ago and she's not sure why people stopped.

We go to the retirement/long term care homes and sing Christmas songs. Most Lutheran churches send their teens caroling.

I thought this was something people did back in the Victorian age , with all the recent stories of people going up to someone's door asking for directions and getting shot at this doesn't sound like a great idea.

I grew up in the 80's and nobody was "going caroling" back then. So I'm not sure why this question is even asked in 2018.

I got dragged out caroling once in the 80s, hated every minute of it.
My parents weren't even particularly religious, maybe they thought it would be a good experience, IDK.

I've never been on the receiving end, but as a kid we were taken caroling by our church. My new neighborhood does look like the kind people would go caroling in though. May have to get the sprinklers and the hound ready.
