Does anyone here have a 2005 or similar Camry?

I found a cheap 05 on craigslist last night and bought it for $500. The guy said the transmission was messed up, I looked it over and saw it was almost out of transmission fluid. It would rev up when on the throttle and barely move. I went and bought a couple quarts of fluid after I bought it and it drove like normal and I was able to drive it home. I got it home and was looking this morning and I could see where the fluid was leaking, it looks like the hose that goes in the transmission cooler was very loose. I took it down to my mechanic this morning and he is supposed to replace the hose and check it out to see if anything else is wrong.

I have drove it about 10 miles and it seems fine but on the dash by the temp gauge is a temp light but the temperature is normal, is this light supposed to be on all the time when the dash lights up?

You posted those pics and couldn't post one of the light you're talking about?

If the temp light is on, you should replace the thermostat, radiator cap, the sender for the light (which is usually not the same as the one for the temp gauge) and be sure the radiator is totally filled and all air is out of the system.

Owner of a 2002 here that is obnoxiously reliable and trouble free since I bought it ages ago.
Can't say much about the transmission since mine is a manual but you should be aware of this issue. Especially with a CL car sold for $500

I got it back from my mechanic and it looks like when the guy hit something it knocked the transmission line that goes to the cooler loose, it cost me 30 bucks and I am good to go
