I installed 5.0 last night and did a test burn and so far it works fine with windows 2000.

I tried DirectCD 5.0 and it works great under Win2k. It even includes some cool diagnostic features.

Works fine in Win2K.. Looks very different from 4.X.

I'd b*tch and moan to them. Maybe write a letter... I'd imagine you could get a deal worked out towards an upgraded version. Software companies like to keep their paying customers... so... you have a good shot of getting the upgrade for little to none if you really did buy it not that long ago. OTOH, it may not be worth the $17.95 they are offering for a promotional upgrade... but, that's something only you can decide.
