A shotgun with a slug WILL blow away a good laminated lock. It's in that link posted earlier.

You may be able to bump it as well.

Don't look at the tutorials if you want to still think that your belongings are safe from theft because you locked it

cost effective? assuming you don't have a grinder/cutoff wheel, how about a hacksaw? takes a while but it works, about $5.

I saw them do it on MythBusters. The handguns didn't work, but the 2 rifles and shotgun that they used worked.

replace it with an exact same lock but different key. that will mess him up lol

nothing esp amazing about padlocks, just takes time to get in.
