When I run netstat -a, I get about a dozen readings of java-script-of-unknown origin.netscape.com listening on my local ports.. Does anyone have any idea what this is??
Next time you do your netstat -a, copy by verbatum exactly what your concerned over. Then go to google, and enter your query between two quotation symbols. Do your search, and view the related links. If you don't find what you're looking for in the web sites, then click on the Groups tab that google has at the top. Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for.
It's just a hostname. With no corresponding A record it seems, but with MX records, and presumably a PTR lists it or you wouldn't see it.
run netstat -n and you'll see the IP address.
