Given how whack the world is right now (particularly America) I think that metal should enjoy a huge swell. It strikes me as a real antidote to the madness. It's another madness, but relatively positive and it counters the disintegrating kind we're seeing in the "news." We need more metal!

New Anathema is out. They used to play deathdoom back in the 90s
New album contains no metal really any more, but still so awesome.

New Ayreon came out a month or so ago, Dutch Metal band, prog metal type stuff. Really really really good.

New Alestorm came out at the end of May, it sounds the same as all the other Alestorm stuff, which is to say, Awesome. It's proper heavy metal, bordering on death metal, but a bit more folksy. Yea, they are more of a parody band, but it doesn't matter they are awesome.

My favorite somewhat new discovery, is the latin funk band "Brownout."
It just so happens that they have fun covering Black Sabbath tunes.
And holy shirt, they are awesome at it.

i would say 95% of music i like is either female lead or all female. Two bands i like are Mystica Girls and Hellcats.

Ouch, grumbling into the mike of unintelligible "lyric", machine-gun drums fully engaged, full "goth mode" for the 12-16yr old audience. This is about as much as music as a boulder is like a meat loaf.

Damn, that is just utter crap with that "singing". The music itself could be interesting....but this growling crap is just that: Crap. All sounds the same and all unintelligible, monotone crap.
