Does anyone use "shirt stays" or "shirt garters"

Im having trouble lately with my uniform shirt coming untucked quite frequently, and "blousing" out.

I have been reading up on "shirt stays" which are either clip style that clip from your socks to your shirt, or "stirrup" style that slip under your foot and clip to your shirt.

Anyone have any experience using these and which style works better (Single band or Y style band)???

Thanks

I mean the miliary style ones that law enforcement and of course military use like

those ones.

I know they look queer, im just wondering if they do their job and would like some honest opinions.

I can't imagine they don't do their job. They're probably unnoticeable too for the most part, unless part of your daily duties involve doing splits.

what if one of the clips on the socks slips off, then the elastic band shoots up, whipping your nuts with a hard metal clip. no thanks.

thats what Im afraid of with those things. I have read of a few instances of that on product reviews and such, and was kinda wanting to see if anyone has actually NOT had that happen while using them.

I've used them before. Except I had them placed on the sides of the sock instead of as pictured. They're unnoticable to anyone and help present a very professional appearance throughout the day. If you want to re-adjust your shirt, you losen your waist band and the shirt pulls down automatically. It doesn't impede movement, either.

Con: When an attachment point comes off. You need to find some place private to re-attach. Otherwise people point and laugh at you.

There's not enough force to hurt you if the clip comes off. Provided you don't uber-tighten.

I use something like this. It works great, even for 10+ hours, getting in and out of cars, etc.

Thats my second option actually. Im thinking at this point, i may get a set of shirt stays and one of the belts, and see what works better.

Are you guessing or stating from experience. It seems logical that it wouldnt have that much "whip" to it.

No thanks. I find that slim-fitting shirts and a retuck every now and then to be worth the price. I'm not sure I could sport anything like that.

nope.

generally speaking, I don't tuck my shirt in unless I'm wearing a jacket (eg: wearing a suit).

pftt. Real men jump from an aircraft while in flight. Bungee cords are for entertainment and luggage.

I used the garters during basic training for the Air Force. My entire flight used them. They work well and made us all look sharp. I never had one disconnect. Even if it did, you're wearing slacks so the force of the elastic recoil won't snap back and hurt you.

I used them in JROTC and now when I wear suits/dress slacks. I've only had a few disconnects, and out of a few, just one hurt - it snapped me in the nuts. I'd recommend them if you're like me and have issues with how your shirts stay tucked in.
