Does ATi make non-pro Radeon 9700s?

The reason being that I was planning to buy a "Built by ATi" Radeon 9700 from someone in the forums. It was pulled from an HP computer. I looked up the part number and it didn't say anything about PRO, but ATi doesn't even make non-pros according to their website and this is built by ATi as you can see from the pictures. There is that little sticker there. Also, HP doesn't even sell non-pros in their computers, pros only.

Basically, I just wanna know if it's a pro or nonpro?

if its on red pcb its pretty much guaranteed to be made by ATI which is really made by sapphire i believe

I know they make them in the form of Sapphire and Powercooler. What I'm asking is rather or not they build Pros themselves? You know, the "Built by ATi" ones. Read my full post. Also note that ATi's site basically seems to suggest the non-pro doesn't exist...

I'm also sure it is built by ATi and not Sapphire because it has the ATi sticker which the Sapphires do not have and a 120 part number.

ATI most definately makes 9700 non pro's. Perhaps they don't market them to the mainstream, but they do make them. Third parties (like sapphire) also make them. You can check pretty easily if you have a Pro or non-pro by the clockspeed it runs at default (check with a program like rivatuner (which supports ATI cards now) ). If your card runs at 325/310 (core/memory) then you have a 9700 Pro; if it's below this then it's a non-pro. By default, non-pro 9700's run at 275/270.

Now that I have my ATi Radeon 9700 Pro, I have a Leadtek Geforce 4 Ti4400 with the box and all documentation except the WinFox CD. This card retails for $220 on NewEgg, so let me know if you want it and how much you'll pay.

i know he got his questions answered, but from discussions on the web and various sites, ati doesn't make any actual cards. chipsets yes, but no cards. Sapphire produces the actual cards. the ones they give to ATI, ATI or sapphire puts ATI stickers on them. the ones sapphire sells, they put sapphire stickers on there. again i could be wrong, but it seems to be the case.

Well by made by ATI I mean chips that are marked as "Built by ATI" as opposed to "Powered by ATI". Perhaps Sapphire makes all of their cards, I dont know, but they market them as being manufactured by ATI or a third party.
