Honestly, I respect the American national pride. I also really like a lot of the towns, and cities throughout your country.

We're also known the world over as being friendly and polite, peace-keepers (as opposed to fight-pickers) and passive.
Obviously not always they case, but more than you might think.

One thing I admire about the Americans is their fierce nationalism - they get up and sing that anthem of theirs with gusto! Canadians just kinda' mumble &quot;Oh Canada...&quot; quietly while the song plays...

We're also known for having a low-cost but VERY effective military. We may not have smart bombs and stealth planes, but we have some of the most effective and best trained troops out there.

We tend to be more inventive and develop more technology that will benefit the world instead of creating new consumer goods. (For example, the Calgarian PCB Disposal furnace.)

I can't think of more right now... I'll add more.

edit: Just thinking about this a bit more seriously and I wondered if perhaps your lack of a national identity is compounded by the whole French/English thing. It's almost like Canada is so fragmented itself (language is pretty important) that there can not be one cohesive &quot;national identity.&quot; Least those are my thoughs .

I think Canadians have a lot to be proud of. It's just hard to sometimes compare ourselves to America because they're so big and powerful. I think we Canadians sometimes have a inferiority complex.

Interestingly enough... I have a great deal of respect for Canadians.... I think their social system is better than here in the United States... of Course without US.... to drive the world economy life wouldnt be so warm and fuzzy in Canada...
