Unethical? What are you expecting? a disclaimer that says "XP will not run as fast with 128MB RAM as with 256MB RAM." If it didn't RUN XP that might be a problem. It'll still run the programs that it advertises, just slower than what a computer geek might like.

Never said it didn't make sense, said it was unethical of them. Why do people who have no argument always put words in others' mouths when flaming? "You didn't say this, so I'll pretend you did & flame you for it!!1!1" Between all the prebuilts I'd still probably recommend a Dell to anyone who has no idea what they're doing and for whom I don't want to be tech support. Doesn't mean they're ok, just the lesser of a few evils.

It's like selling a car with 25 horsepower when the upgrade to 100hp is 5% more money. The 25hp model is dangerously slow, near unusable. 128mb ram chokes winXP just about as much.

I really can't complaint that my $275 Dell 400SC came with the only 128MB of memory. It's the consumer responsiblity to know what they are buying. If they don't know better ask somebody.

Some people believe that 128mb of ram for their systems is what you get when you don't research..

I love 400SC from Dell. That's the only computer I would buy from them. Can't beat the price, quality, and the quietness of that machine. Super machines. Free Dell support isn't half bad either.

People who rag on Dell have no clue about Dell Hot Deals. If they did, then they would love Dell for the deals.
