So, here's a question. I was looking at some of the size guides, and they suggest measuring your waist to determine your jeans size. So, I wear a 34, so my waist should measure 34 according to several guides.

Nope. My waist (pretty much anywhere in the hip / waist area) measures more like 40. But, if I bought size 40 pants I'd be swimming in them. Am I measuring wrong (wrapping a measuring tape around me somewhat loosely), or are their guides just off? I mean, with some brands 34s can be a little tight, but others are dead on. Some are even a bit loose.

Thanks. Where can I try these? It used to be that you could just buy clothes sight unseen. But now you have to worry about their "fit".

You must be very old-i.e, back to the zoot suit era. I'm over 60 and I don't recall a time when buying clothes without trying them on first was anything more than hit or miss.

You should give up on mail order clothing and buy local at a store with a decent return policy.

I do 569 loose only. Been wearing them for over a decade probably. Fit just right for a man without stick legs. Not too tight, not too baggy.

Yeah, the cs mentioned something about them changing the styles. But he also said they changed it back and I may have gotten one of the older ones. Either way, these pants are too freaking tight. My wife says she can see the outline of my cock and my balls are saying "We're dying over here."

Other people have mentioned brands I've never even heard off. Are they like the hundred dollar jeans people were complaining about here last year?

Why not just go up one size on the waist. Levi's are not sized accurately, even different pairs of the same size will fit different, I always try them on before buying. I'm not skinny, and 550's fit just fine.

Levi has turned to shit. 560, which use to be quite baggy, are now jean tights - jeggings I guess? It's disgusting.

In fact, most jean companies have turned to shit.

gap 1969 standard fit is great for me, I wear 33/32. 5'10.5 and 170lbs. Comfortably loose without feeling or looking baggy.

Unfortunately, I have women's hips. My waste is a 34, but my hips are about a 36. So, I have to go with a 36, which means that the belt line is usually loose.

While I still wear 560's (their the only jeans that fit my thighs well), the started going to shit when they went from 7 belt loops to 5.

That's my problem. But it's further complicated by a genetic condition known as the "Irish No-Ass Syndrome" where I have no ass to speak of to help hold up the waist line.

You have to look and see where they were made, because the same exact size/type will vary in fit according to what country it was made in.

maybe that's why I have no ass...some irish ancestry

levis 511 are my preferred line from levi's, but they're even skinnier than most of the others mentioned in the topic

I wore the 559's for years and they fit great, just right. Decided that the couple pairs I've had were starting to get a little worn so I figured it was time to add another pair to the rotation. Bought the same size, 36x34 and same style 559 and they were so tight I could barely get into them. I dunno what happened but they certainly dont fit like the older ones do.

i'm all done with buying levi's. i have 550s and 560s and i expect them all to fall apart similarly and too soon - tears at the belt loops, crotch blowout/disintegration and frayed pant cuffs. i've also found some with poor stitching of the inseam and pockets.

i blame the gay agenda for making jeans so tight.

You're blaming the wrong crowd for that, though you wont see me complaining about other guys wearing them. I can't stand constrictive clothing personally so mine are more baggy.
