i dont intend on staying in jersey but ive lived her all my life so far and i dont quite mind it.

i mean, i haven't been many other places, so to me the smell is normal. a few yrs ago i went to Las Vegas, and actually got sick from the change in the air ;x

as for traffic, traffic is kinda sucky everywhere. sure its a bit worse in jersey, but thats because a majority of people on the pkwy and tpkes are asses from other states who cant drive and/or drive like pansies. ive only been driving a few months, but I know everytime I've had an encounter with a crappy driver, they've had NY or CT license plates.

i also enjoy not having to get out and pump my own gas. particularly on days like we've had recently where it's rained a ton.

its really simple. if you dont like jersey, stay out

There's not a roof over the pumps?

some gas stations do not have roofs. it is FUN to watch gas attendants getting soaked with no extra clothes in handy.

not at some of the ones in my area. theres a lot of smaller gas stations that just have one or two pumps and a booth in between. but theres no roofs to the pumps or nething. so you end up seeing gas attendands with ponchos often.

NJ is one of the best states to live in the entire country. But it is also one of the most expensive. I like living here

Wow, you couldn't be further from the truth.

Really? NJ has one of the top 2-3 public school systems in the country. During the employment crunch a couple of years back, NJ was one of the few states that actually added jobs, good paying ones at that. NJ is home to Princeton and one the top best bargain colleges in the country in College of New Jersey, formerly Trenton State . NJ still has lots and lots of beautiful country living as well. NJ is also home to one of the top trauma centers on the east coast in Cooper Medical Center in Camden.

I love having to get out of my car, undo the lock on my gas cap, put my gas cap back on when the attendant is done because it's too hard for them to put a gas cap back on tightly, and pay a price premium for the privledge. Yet another reason NJ blows.

weird as NJ has some of the lowest gas prices in the area.

Right.
And the guy pumping really doeasn't have to give 2 shits about my car.
Not like he is the guy fixing it.

Yes, much like in communist China you don't have to run your own life, and in Africa you don't have to worry about where your next meal is coming from, because it isn't!

I love these threads, mostly because I hate NJ. And I hate NJ because of multiple personal experiences, AND various facts and figures about the state.

What the f*ck r u talking about?

How does not pumping your own gas = practices in Communist China?

my town is righttt at the top of that sucky area. and i dont think my area sucks. houses are valued in the 400kish range, nothing is rundown and the avg. income is pretty damn high.

....i do go to school in Newark however ;x but even parts of there aren't so bad.

i am curious tho - what makes an area "not suck".

states all across the country have towns just like NJ where the avg. income is 20k and people live in trailer parks. there are also towns all across the country that have towns just like NJ where people live in huge mansion type houses and the average income exceeds hundreds of thousands.

the original OP lives in Philly. tell me there aren't some places there slumming it and that you wouldn't dare step out into at night just like around NJ.

Yields IN traffic circles, traffic lights in circles (there are two on the one in my link) and other nonsense like that. Top tax bracket is near (if not past) 9%. PA has a flat tax somewhere closer to 3%

No, but apparently you do
