Slavery still exists in Sudan. Although it is officially denied, there are organizations that have purchased dozens of slaves for the purpose of setting them free (although I'm not sure that this is the best way to end the slave trade there).

I would say so... I've heard stories of FBI raiding old plantations where they had slaves on it still. The owners never told the slaves that they were freed, and just kept the next generations as slaves as they went down.

I have yet to find a single newspaper article on it, but I have heard of it two seperate times one was a plantation in WV and the other in VA. So I dunno if any of it's true or not

But that's the traditional defination of slavery, I'm sure there are others that still exist

You're kidding! That reminds me a skit on In Living Color where the slave is trying to escape, but it's like 1990 something. No one told him slavery was over.
