Is that thing effective?
I can't imagine a situation where somebody is targeting a car so precisely that they'd try to figure out a way around the boot rather than just moving on to an easier score. It'd have to be one nice car to make it worth it.

Which is the point of the steering wheel club. It isn't that it will stop a thief but that it will require a bit more time and maybe convince the thief to move to the next car instead.there will always be a similar car that can be found that is not secured
Whats the cheapest way to protect a car parked in an apartment complex from being stolen?
Get a car so cheap that nobody wants to steal it.
on the downside, an older car might be valuable for parts so you'd want to avoid anything too common at least.

Video cameras.
It wont stop theft. Maybe make it easier to recover, thats all.
 I liked it.Kia invented a new security system for their cars. They made the name bigger.
That is too much work, if you really want people to leave it alone just drive a royal POS. I had an 88 Pontiac 6000 that I left the key in the ignition and the doors unlocked in for 2 years straight, never got bothered. Actually got $250 for it when I sold it though. You really wanna protect your car?
Let a Rottweiler sleep in there.
Even if they could deal with it, thieves dont want the hassle.
