dude....26 here, and I LOVE MY DS. It's a lifesaver in long lines, waiting for your meal arrive, etc etc...It's my ultimate sidekick when I hang out with friends.

I also go out to sea quite often due to my job. I bring my DS w/ me all the time for these trips (lasting from 2-6 weeks at a time). It's my lifeblood out there.

My housemate has a PSP and a DS. He rarely touches his PSP. There are a couple games out on the psp that are really good, but the amount of awesomeness that is on the DS is absolutely something you should not miss. Any gamer who calls himself a gamer should own the DS hands down.
oh btw...

i would definately go with the psp, they're coming up with amazing games recently, i ended up moving from the ds to the psp... i would just start with one.

Like what? I havent touched my PSP in about a year. I play my DS nearly everyday.

idk, they came out with the new wipeout game, burnout games, daxter, jeannie d'arc, moh, metal gear acid or w/e... and the ones that are coming soon look pretty sweet too.

I've had my DS for a week and all I've been really playing are ouendan/2/elite beat agent. I haven't even touched the game that came bundled with my DS (Zelda).

DS is fun but some games are just better on the PSP (Lego Starwars or PuzzleQuest, for example). DS games just don't look as good as PSP.

As for the 'new' Final Fantasy games on these portable, FF7 Core Crisis is more fun than FF12RW I think.

They've also started doing digital distribution with the PSP.

Beats and SF: Combat Ops are only available via download. You also have access to the PSone games that have been released for the PS3.

i like my psp, esp since I can play PSP1 games like PEPSIMAN! Also God of War looks pretty sweet, ratchet and clank, Manhunt2 is not bad despite the reviews.

I just picked up a crimson/black DS today, though I did not get any games yet. I am definately gonna get the R4 setup if I can find a place to get it (PM me if you know of a place, please).

So far the list of games I plan on actually buying are-

New Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario advance 4
Brain Age
Brain Age 2
Flash Focus
Metroid Prime: Hunters

Any other must have games to add to that list? I had an original DS when they came out that I purchased for Metroid Prime Hunters, but when the game was delayed I decided to get rid of the thing.

I'd only get one of the brain age games. I can't see them being different enough where you'd want both. I wasn't a big fan of flash focus when I played it either.

Tetris and Worms: Open Warfare 2 are awesome.

I looked for a tetris game on gamestop's site, but I could not find anything. Tetris is probably my favorite game of all time.

I picked up the first brain age, new super mario, and super mario advance 4 today. That should hold me over for a while.

Well, my brother got me the Zelda bundle DS for Christmas. So far it gets a big . Zelda is a great game. I love the interaction (yelling, blowing, etc.), although it can be frustrating at times (and embarrasing in public) because I wasn't expecting to actually have to do that.

I plan on picking up New Super Mario Bros and seeing what else is out there.

Looks like Tetris DS is no longer in production for some bizarre reason. I'm glad I got my copy when I bought my DS a while ago.

There were a bunch of copies of Tetris DS being sold on ebay before Christmas, but they were being bid up into the $60 range - screw that.

I tried again a few days ago and I got a used copy for 28 dollars on ebay, not nearly as bad as it was before Christmas.
