Here's what I did. I took my original disc. I copied all the files from that into a directory. It wasn't the exact MB amount for some reason, but those are probably protected files or something. So far, it hasn't seemed to make a difference.
I burned all those files onto a disc. No image, just straight burning. With my backup I can install the game and run it with the no-cd crack. If you play the game without ANY cd, the mouse and music will be messed up. If you're asking if I can use the disc like the original, meaning it works without any cracks, then so far no.. but I didn't burn it with CloneCD so it might still be possible.
I even threw on all the newest downloads/patches for the game as well and those seem to not get in the way of the copy I made. I haven't had to take out my original probably since I bought the game, which is pretty much the way I like it. Hope this helps.
