Does this Hdtune graph look normal for a SSD

Hi,

I ran hdtune on my new Kingston 40 gig SSD. In the beginning of the graph it very jagged, lots of spikes and dips. It has a brand new windows 7 installed on it. I booted with my old HHD and ran hdTune again. the graph looked the same. I have a sata I mobo, that's why the overall numbers are low, but the spikes and dips don't seem right. Could the SSD be defective?

Yep there is nothing wrong my Intel G2 80 and 160 GB do the same thing. Not sure why but all SSDs seem to do this at first on the performance tests. Who knows why.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It does the same thing on my ram disks.

How much ram do you have?

Wish my motherboard supported more than 8 GB of ram. Even then I don't think it would be possible to have like 50 to 80 GB of ram easily. It sure would be nice though.

Oh sorry. I primarily use it to run VMs.
