Does this mean anything, or is it just a "warning letter"?

It's been a while since you posted on here nerd.

What I want to know is how many warnings they givev out before doing anything... or maybe just how that works in general.

It's my main account. His comment was simply trolling as defined by "deliberately provoking arguments on newsgroups or bulletin boards, with no other intent than to gain attention for the sake of attention."

You can see it has started an argument amongst us ^^. And what was the purpose of that post? It couldn't have caused anything GOOD.

He asked what the letter means. Is it not true that is what the letter means?

From what I hear, you can just ignore it. But you should definitely stop using public torrent sites and P2P network.

i don't think it is trolling to point out that the most obvious answer is probably the correct answer

it is most likely that the OP shared or downloaded copyrighted files and that is why comcast sent the letter

yes, some people get these letters that have not shared/downloaded (i.e. pirated) files, but the OP says nothing like "i never shared/downloaded copyrighted files" , so assuming the OP is a pirate seems reasonable to me

just because 98% of the posters in OT think pirating is ok doesn't make it legal

I got one of those a while back for downloading Photoshop from Demonoid. Nothing ever came of it. Use PeerGuardian and encrypt your torrent transfers next time and you will be in the clear.

Demonoid is private

Doesn't stop someone from registering...

Also use IP Filter lists. They aren't perfect, but any bit helps .

i thought that peerguardian just provides block lists from IPs known to be used by RIAA/MPAA to gather evidence against you? what type of encryption does that offer?
